I was surprised to see Rubel Hossian has a FC bowling average above 55. What the **** is he doing playing test cricket?

Aside from Pakistani cricketers and Praveen Kumar who has only played a few test matches, none of the subcontinent sides have quicks that averages under 30 with the ball. Shahadat Hossain has the worst ER in test history while Rubel and the Sri Lankan guys only need a few more tests to take the honours for worst test average ever for a genuine bowler. Hard times.

As flat as Rehmann is this fellow, just unlike Rehmann he seemingly has no control.

His average is 31, but Zaheer is as good as any in the world. (When he's not in hospital obv)

I would imagine because purely and simply he has pace and he has potential. Can get it up around 140kph, which I imagine few Bangladeshi's are capable of. His stats do not look good, a Test bowling average of just over 75 is awful, and if you take those figures out of his first-class record, it's still an unimpressive 40odd. He is only 21, I'm sure those figures will improve, they have to.

That and the basis that realistically he can't be any worse than most of Bangaladesh picks sinceTest number 1512.

I mean I really don't think they should be playing tests, that said its good to see the West Indian players getting in the runs, it'll mean they will be able to offer quite a good deal in the Indian test series if they're coming in with form.

76,-,154,-,46 are the bowling averages of Bangladeshi bowlers in the team not named Shakib with Razzak and Shafiul averaging 66 and 76. So looks like Rubel has been at par with the other bowlers.

Think that if not for Shakib, the bangers would have been stripped off their test status by now.
