*Official* West Indies in Bangladesh

Would you lose if it was a draw?
Yes.

I looked at the weather report and thought someone would win the series for sure. I was going to bet just on Windies, but thought with Sunny playing Bangladesh could pull off a win, of course after making the bet he pulls out of the match.

Comprehensive win in the end, I'm beginning to think that Bangladesh should field just the 1 quick bowler at home and include Mahmudullah, Sunny and Siddique when fit.

1 Tamim 2 Siddique 3 Nafees 4 Naeem 5 Rahim 6 Shakib 7 Mahmudullah 8 Nasir Hossain 9 Shuvo 10 Sunny 11 Shahadat/Rubel/Shafiul.

I did a pretty stupid bet on this game, put $30 on Windies @ 2.20 and $30 on Bangers @ 3.80 I think - $6 FTW.
Mortaza not being an injury freak would do them wonders. Swap him for Shuvo.

Has age on his side and runs and wickets behind him. imo he is the only guy currently who can eclipse Kallis' allrounder records, atleast in ODIs. That would be epic.
I see him as more of a bowling allrounder tbh, already has 8 5w hauls in tests and against all countries except Zim which is pretty awesome imo. Would love it if he could get his batting average past 40 in ODIs, though it is unlikely.

Same old Bangladesh. They had a very good chance of drawing this game (and therefore the series) on the final day, but that wasn't good enough for them, they had to go for the win. Tamim and Shakib's shots when they got out were just
These two in particular hardly play any domestic first class games, and so find it difficult to convert and score "daddy hundreds".
The biggest problem for Bangladesh in Tests is their inability to take twenty wickets. There don't seem to be any promising fast bowlers in the youth system. There are plenty of up and coming batsmen and spin bowlers/all rounders but no pacers. They will be ok in the limited overs format but I don't see any progress in Tests until they can get a couple of decent fast bowlers.
As for the top order in Tests Imrul Ka-edge, Nafees and Rokibul need to be shown the exit door. There are of other options to try such as Jahurul Islam, Junaid Siddique, and Shuvogoto Hom. Naeem Islam can be promoted to play in the top order as he does for his domestic team.
Then there are the youngsters with huge potential: Anamul Haque, Asif Ahmed, and Mominul Haque, though it would be better for their development to play a few A team games before being promoted to the national team.
Also Mushfiqur should be relieved of his wicketkeeping duties and should just concentrate on the captaincy and his batting, this way he could fill in the top order and there would not be the usual 3/4 dropped catches per game.

In terms of Shakib and Tamim almost learning their own game in Test cricket, it is exceptionally difficult for them, Tamim in particular, he has played more than half his first-class matches as Test matches, so he's having to learn on the job, in Test cricket. They don't have the depth to be able to bring him out of the side and send him back to domestic cricket and learn more about his trade. I like the fact Pakistan have done a similar thing with Umar Akmal, and he is scoring big runs in domestic cricket.

Tamim is already their main man with the bat, despite being just 22 years of age. I'm not sure what Bangladesh's schedule is like over the next 12 months, but he needs to get himself into a County side or maybe over to New Zealand, and play some first-class cricket and develop and learn about his game outside of the pressures that comes with Test match cricket, and I don't mean some meaningless T20 competition.

I don't get the impression Shakib will ever manage those daddy hundreds on anywhere near a consistent basis. He plays his shots, can be loose, and is at this moment in time, well suited to batting at around number 6 in Test cricket. His bowling means he already has a healthy workload, at least he is now free from the stresses of captaincy.

I know its still very soon but it seems to me like Shakib and Tamim are going to have an Andy Flower like reputation by the end of their career. Great players that had the unfortunate luck of playing for minnows

I think Bangers need

a) Siddons back.

b) More tests. Tamim has only played 22 and it feels like he has been around forever.

Yes they do need Siddons back. I can't believe they got rid of him. They made a lot of progress under him and he made the players believe in their abilities.
