Australian Domestic Season 2011-12

I don't think we should deify him just yet, but Harris is a champ. I wonder why it took him so long in his career to get this far.
ha yeh probably should have been a comma there.

I don't much about the history of Harris, but from the little I've read he used to be more of a bowling allrounder...he also apparently bowled with much less pace early on in his career. So that could explain why he has taken relatively long to show his true talent - probably just a combination of shifting his focus to bowling and honing his skills with experience. Would be interested to know what his average stands as since his bowling 'renaissance' though. Because his FC average of 28 or so doesn't do his current talent justice at all imo.

Maxwell having a good day. His batting average will slowly fall, however he is a dangerous type to have batting at six or seven.

Oh cool, cheers for that. 25 huh? That's definately closer to the mark, but I'm kind of suprised it's not a little bit lower tbh. SR is suprisingly high as well. It's interesting how both his average and SR, albeit over a small sample, in tests is much better than for the overall FC stats above. Haven't seen much of him bowl in Shield cricket, so it's hard to compare, but maybe he is one of those bowlers whp really steps up another gear in tests.

Harris has always been a bowling allrounder. Wasn't much chop with the bat early days for Northerns but worked on his batting enough to score the occasional grade ton, probably hit a couple the season he first played for SA which was probably what got him the nod because his bowling wasn't quite there to get a spot on its own.

Was always the seam-up merchant who could bowl sharp but wasn't going to run through teams and likely to score some occasional useful runs (and last-ball 6's to win games). Was probably operating in the mid 120's most of the time but once he turned into a genuine strike weapon, his batting has very much taken a back seat. Can bat, though, smashes some monster 6's and can grit it out if needed. Ultimate team man.

Why, SACA, WHY?

With the redbacks start to the season,i see big changes, this has to be the worst state batting line up.
Harris, Klinger, Ferguson, Cooper and Blizzard is a strong batting core and South Australia will be hard pressed to find better replacements. The main issue is Christian at 6 and Ludeman at 7. Both batting one spot too high.

Theo Doropoulos is the one potential big improvement that could be made to the line-up. How is his club form in Adelaide?

I'm loathe to defend the SA side too much but this team had an admittedly weakened NSW in serious bother in the first game and racked up almost 500 in the first dig. Besides which the backup is hilariously bad so, even if they were doing worse, there's no-one with a serious case to replace them.

Rain to save SA today anyway, some mean looking clouds around.

NSW now moving heavily into favouritism here.
