What an arsey catch. Hads literally had the ball run up his leg and land in his gloves. Brilliant, Copes deserves some luck.

Hard to fault the effort put in by bowlers today but the fact of the matter is that on flat tracks you need skills to bowl good batsmen out and that's one thing totally lacking.

EDIT: Dilshan there has probably provided us with a glimmer of hope, now we need a freakish spell from Siddle.

One thing that Copeland has done that is similar to McGrath is that he's dominated the opposition captain. Hopefully this continues next series against Graeme Smith too.

What do you expect man? Only the very best of bowlers can do anything on these pitches. The bottom line is it is the batsmen who have put us in this difficult position, not the bowlers.

This.

Two of the attack are novice bowlers. They're being patient and the home side aren't getting away from them.

Patience, both with their careers and in this match.

If they bowl tight, time starts to work in Australia's favour.

1/87 was lanka's session, but no disaster

so that's 3/171 on a flat deck, not the worst effort in the world. esp considering 3 records of the 3 dismissed batsmen.

Kinda a silly retirement if true. mainly cause he doesn't play in the home T20's anyway. he plays in the overseas ones but only 'cause they can't be bothered to send yet another T20 player only in the squad (Warner, White, Finch etc)

Tremendous looking straight drive from Matthews to get to 50. Key is to get in and make this a big score. For himself and his team and in the process put this match beyond the tourists' grasp.
