Has Parthiv Patel always been able to play the pull/hook shot relatively well? Or is more of a recent thing with his batting?

He has always played it well.Really a major reason why he keeps getting selected.

The opposition is so tuned in to bowling short against India, and he makes full use of it. Plus he is so short in height, that there is a shorter margin of error with the bowlers with him.

We need to combine a decent start with a decent finish for once. Get a wicket or two and we'll have the first part done.

No real reason for Rahane to get impatient now tbh. Don't know why he is trying to force the issue the last few overs and edging and swashing in the process.

Sounds like an impressive spell if cricinfo are to be believed.
It is, quick and on a good length.

This looks a very good pitch to bat on. Edges going for four, ball coming on to the bat quite nicely. These two have only really got in for the last few overs and they're scoring a plenty.
