Very good team performance. Hopefully the start of a renaissance.
Very good team performance, which is the most encouraging thing about it. That and the fielding.

For an individual performance, I've been so impressed with Watson's bowling. He's such a good user of the seam.

Poor fella, should have kept faith until the last guy came in at least.
Perhaps he figured that if numbers 10 & 11 are worse than Herath then he seriously needed to get a move on.

Anyway, fine win for Aus, although the batting hasn't exactly convinced. But it hasn't been easy to win in SL, so they will enjoy this one. Absolutely shocking from SL with the bat though. With the obvious exceptions, there's been no resilience, no thought and no professional pride. It's a frightening thought that they're rated number 4 in the world.

Copeland's been fine. He's done his job. This attack is excellently balanced, why change it?
Nobody is saying Copeland has been bad but its hard to see him holding his spot for a long time by just being a containing element of this bowling attack, of course nobody expects him to take a 5-fer every alternate innings in test cricket like he does in first-class cricket but still he needs to take some wickets to pull his weight in the side.

It's one game on possibly the worst pitch for his style of bowling. Give him time.

It's his first match. And they've won it. I hope he gets some breathing space.

Of course winning matches didn't help McDonald who was a player who could do the same job.

Probably the difference is Copeland's record and having the ability to do more with the ball. That should hopefully see him get a decent run to cement a spot.

Has to be Hussey, its his innings that really gave us a huge upper-hand in this game.
What really gave Aus the upper-hand is that the Sri Lankans were dismissed for 100-odd in their 1st innings. So, to Lyon it should go, imho.
