*Official* Fourth Test at The Oval

Agreed! I would have gone Dravid or Swann for the man of the match.

Broad is now a bona fide match-winning all-rounder. Consider me officially a convert from now on. I have been one of his severest critics in the past, but the man has now come of age. Pace, bounce and movement with the ball, a natural strokeplayer and (now) knows his game very well - he's just the thing cricket lovers would kill for.

No argument about the Indian player of the series. Anyone disagrees?
I've always thought Broad could be a very decent player but wow. IF his batting continues to improve he could be spectacular.

And as for the Indian side they have decided to join Anna Hazare and the rest of the country in protest and won't win a match till the Janlokpal bill is passed:p
 If that doesn't jolt the government into action, nothing will.

Shivfan, we have approximately ten million reports of this post tearing through our inboxes. You are hovering very close to a serial offender infraction. Cut. It. Out.
Tbf to him that was a more detailed and balanced post with a right timing from him after a decent duration of time.

Even though i may not agree with most of what he says:p

Huh? I must be missing something. Seemed a fair enough post to me.

Come on man, cut it out. MSD, stop giving idiotic excuses. :@

Yes, this Engish side is exceptionally good and were superbly disciplined in this series. But shall we be honest for once? That ALONE was not the reason for this 4-0 embarrasment. What about the attitude of some of your players towards the longer version of the game? What about their dedication towards fitness, applying themselves to play out sessions, their priority towards test cricket and ability to maintain pressure by bowling in the right channels?

There are hard questions that need to be answered. One would hope that the skipper is more blunt in the dressing room than he is at the presentation ceremony.

Almost every single post he has made in this subforum has been about how sweet the revenge is since India skipped the West Indian tour and played IPL stuff.

I agree with him about the West Indian thing, but broken records, especially aggressive ones, are frowned upon here.

Looking forward to the ODIs. England probably favourites now what with all the people out for India and home conditions.

He has been harping about the Indian players missing the Caribbean tour in a million different posts. He almost exclusively posts just about that subject.

In any case, let’s not dwell on that post please. If any action is required, we will certainly discuss it in the mod forum.

Why the hell were there 2 trophies given?

Tiger Pataudi didn't seem too happy being ignored earlier.

Always two trophies, npower trophy as a one-off for every home series, and the Pataudi trophy is the recurring award - at least that's my understanding of it!

I think every decently good player with potential has a peaking time in his career. Where he knows his game well, has got the basics covered and can produce consistent performances on the field.

This seems to be the 'coming of age' series for Broad. What were instances of sporadic brilliance earlier ought to become consistently match-winning performances from now on. This could be the series where Broad actually managed to make that transition. Specifically speaking, as a lover of pace and swing bowling, I hope his golden run lasts very long indeed.

Oh, and I suppose I better congratulate the Brits. Bloody well played. Must be a great feeling for the fans to hit the number one position after a gazillion years of being slammed by Australia. Now is probably the time to go looking for hopelessly optimistic posts circa 2006 about how England will be number one around 2011.

In other words, just type "GeraintIsMyHero Cricketweb" into google and read all 30,000 posts of his. You guys can do that though, I should go to bed.
