This seems to be the 'coming of age' series for Broad. What were instances of sporadic brilliance earlier ought to become consistently match-winning performances from now on. It's rather pleasing to see him bowl the way he's bowled in this series. I know he's bowled some good spells in the past, but this series has confirmed exactly why he's held in such esteem within English circles.

Looking at his attributes and skill sets, there is a genuine question regarding how good he could be? If you ask me, the sky is the limit, he could and probably will end up being the best fast bowler in the world in a few years. Reason being, he has virtually everything you'd want from a fast bowler - he's 6'6 and has a nice easy action that makes the most of his height. He has the ability to seam and swing the ball, bowls at a lively pace and is still only in his mid 20s. It is almost incredible to believe that someone of his caliber was wasting away his career bowling some of that ridiculous short pitch stuff not too long ago.

It's the model I always try to use for any of the sides I coach, and it's worked brilliantly this summer (to the point where people have been stunned that players have only being playing together for a couple of weeks).

It's happened too often now for it to be coincidence... I think the secret is that it reduces fear. At least that's the line I'll use next time someone asks why I tell their son that he keeps wicket like he's got saucepans for hands.

Earlier on Facebook and Twitter i saw a open letter from Dhoni thanking Anna Hazare for taking the whole public's and the media's attention away from this series.:laugh:

Actually pretty surprised that about 3/4 new channels covered the end of the series for about 15 minutes out of about 25/30 i surfed through and then reverted back to the Congress core committee meet or what not. Nobody at the moment seems bothered about this series that much and the BCCI and the rest may get away if they win the ODI series without any major backlash.

Actually, that is a good reason to actively encourage it. Should have an 'Insult of the Day" during team talks.

Wow, we're awesome, but goodness India have been crap.

Have been working all day, look forward to the highlights. :) And good to see Swann doing what Swann does - bowl us to one test win per series.

Edit: Just when I thought it couldn't get any better... I notice the Aussies are about to lose. :laugh:

Wow. What a day out. I am going to remember that for a long time. :)

Such a good day's cricket - the first half was riveting and frustrating in equal measure, then the second half just exhilarating, watching this outfit rip through a lineup like that. The first time I've seen this England team bowling live (well, for more than 3 overs) and it was such a good effort, toiling away on what was a flat pitch with a soft ball before reaping the rewards with the new ball. The scenes at the end of the game were awesome and the atmosphere was electric - couldn't have asked for more, really.

Edit: Oh, and Rahul Dravid's interview. :wub:
