So, what exactly is the point in having Gambhir and Dhoni bowling in a warm up? Are they planning on giving everyone a bowl in the Tests?

I think they've decided everyone's warm and so just make sure no one else gets injured?

Its disappointing. It doesnt show a steel-minded approach to one of their few prep games. However it is probably understandable given they only had 3 bowlers again after Zaheer went down.

On a different point-- interesting to see Martin Saggers umpiring this game. I didnt know he was doing that now. An often underated bowler. I quite rated him.

To the BCCI probably more than tests.
Interesting comment. I'm sure BCCI care more about ODIs than Tests on the whole, but surely in isolation this Test series is more important than the ODI one?

Yes, I'm sure the BCCI have shown how much they prefer ODIS with some of their recent scheduling of extra Tests rather than ODIs...

Would certainly think and hope so but then there is a bigger gap between the last test ending and the first ODI/T20 than there was between the squad arriving in England for the tests and the first test.

There are 3 warm up games too ahead of the ODI/T20 series at different venues with gap in between, which i presume is more lucrative for the ECB and the county boards too. Could have easily had a 4/5 day gap between the last Test and first t20 / ODI and have had extra 5 days to prepare for the tests and another warm up game if it mattered so much to them idiots.

I think the ECB generally try and avoid having Tests run too far into the football season as well, though

Give Munaf a go today and in the third warm up. I think he can find form. He was one of the WC heroes and therefore deserves a bit more of a chance. I'll never forget that ball to Razzaq, simply breathtaking.

It is a shame Aaron is missing the warm ups due to Visa issues, but hey, that just about sums up the BCCI.

Got to love cricket the players come off at the slightest drop of rain but evacuate the city and the cricket must go on!

In a match reduced to 20 overs India posted 169/6, Kohli 73 (58), Treadwell 2/18 - In reply after 6 overs Kent are 48/1 in reply - should be a tight finish.
