Well the slashes just mean that it doesn't matter who plays among the slashed players. The rest are indisputable imo. That's all.

I guess if you want a more exact line up then I'd tip Rahane instead of Patel. Patel hasn't done anything to be dropped, in fact he's been the one fill in player who's actually performed almost every time when the chance came (although he throws it away after getting a 50 lol). But somehow I just feel he's not a long term prospect. With Gamby / Viru so injury prone and Sach maybe lasting another 1-2 years we need new specialist ODI openers, Murli Vijay is trash, so Rahane I hear is the next on the list, so yeah. But again, I won't have any problems if Patel is picked either.

Same goes for the pacers, I really don't care which one gets picked, they're all the same to me.
It was just a tongue in cheek comment. I agree with the team except Vinay in place of Aaron. Has been a proven performer and deserves a look in. Would prefer Rahane over Patel for the same reason quoted above.

Sounds a poor attitude to me. He's 20 and should just give up?
It'll never happen considering his county will need someone who scores as regularly as he does, but I'd like it if players started to just concentrate on one or two forms of the game. In these times, with so many formats played all in a short time frame, you're almost forced to become an incredibly versatile player who can switch mindsets and techniques constantly (people were saying that Cook becoming ODI captain could affect his Test game but that's not as difficult as playing T20s, 40 over games and 4 day games interchangeably). I'd say it was proactive rather than a poor attitude - plenty of older players have given up on T20 to focus on the other versions of the game, so why should a younger player be any different? It would just be playing to your strengths and understanding your game, as well as making it mentally and physically easier to prioritise on your stongest form of the game.

Like I said before, though, it just won't happen. Especially with a key player for a small county who is really needed in all forms - would be seen as a selfish move.

Rahane has opened at times in OD'S but he isn't actually a opener.

But then so weren't Sehwag and even Sachin when they started.

Yucky innings by Taylor. Kinda wish he'd just give up on T20 tbh, its not really his game - focus on the other two formats boy.
Not really his game? really, the lads only 21 and averages 34 in the format, bit of a overreaction to a poor innings.

Nah read my post above.

Anyway strike rate isn't great, which is my point really. He'll always score lots of runs in any format, but I think it'd be good for a player like him to focus on the longer forms.

He probably does, tbf. Doesn't mean he isn't going to be still selected for T20 domestic games though; he's still relatively valuable in them even if he doesn't focus on them.
