*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

Funny thing is, the BCCI (and Sachin/Dhoni for that matter) were big fans of the hotspot and were always sold on it... That is why when push came to shove and they had the opportunity to use hot spot without hawkeye, they did it.
Frankly, they're idiots.

I can understand the BCCI's reservations against the predictive path of Hawk Eye and the accuracy of hot spot. But it is surprising to me how many of these poor decisions could be completely eliminated by just using the television replay. I suspect, with 90% of decisions that are wrong, you can tell from just the replay whether there is inside edge or whether it pitched in line with the stumps. This is really what they system was set up to do - eliminate the howlers. How many people could not ascertain a plumb lbw that isnt given from just the television replay?

Think about it a little. No hawk eye, no hot spot, no snicko and no need to fork up any additional costs as it is essentially the same process that we use for run out referrals at the moment. And yet we aren't using that!
IIRC Cevno made that perfectly reasonable suggestion a few days back.

ICC needs to grow a brain. Or did they come up with such a proposal and get shot down by the BCCI? Anyone in the know?

Well batted Bell, brilliant ton.

England have upper hand now. KP going through gears and looks ominously good right now. Weather set to go cloudy tomorrow so if we bat through today at the current rate we may have enough runs to win anyway.

And Marcuss,Pews(?) and GIMH/GingerFrurball(i think) were laughing at us and saying UDRS was not for clear decisions only.

Pfffffffffft

29th of June:

Bun is such a terrible user

Anyway yeah I'm not over the moon about Hotspot either. But really the whole point of the URDS is to get rid of the terrible decisions...90% of the time a simple replay and perhaps Hawkeye up to the point of contact with pads can do that. christ get a simple, good system implemented that everyone follows and then talk about adding full hawkeye, hotspot etc

Should be noted that Bell is batting out of position here, that's one of the standard excuses we're allowed isn't it?
