*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

Norwood's on Fire
What an amazing day. Said it last week and saying it again, this is Flintoffesque from Broad.

All this talk of Bopara is making me queasy though. I'd have him batting at 10 in this side.

I dont like the idea of someone making their debut mid-series in a rubber of this significance. That basically leave the choice being Bopara or....Collingwood. We do have a lack of experienced batting depth
Surely both Colly and Tres would answer an SOS? Tres would be the first to be called. They would both play, if asked, dont you think?

For me, this series isnt about the future, but about right now. I forgot about Trescothick. He would be the man
How do you propose fixing the batting.depth problem if you're unwilling to debut young batsmen?

Ideally you wouldn't blood one in in such a important game, don't have much of a problem with debuting one player but not two, like that's been mentioned.

I have no issue with giving a debut to a young batsman. However, not in this situation. It is mid way through a high stakes series with the injured batsman likely to come straight back in when fit.

There are times to bring in new batsmen. This isnt one of them.

Bowlers who have taken Test Hattricks: Stuart Broad, AlokKapali

Bowlers who haven't taken Test Hattricks: Malcolm Marshall, Murali, Zaheer Khan.

On another hattrick related note, Broad was a victim of the previous hattrick before he took this one, the first time this has ever happened consecutively.

Thirdly, alongside Broad, Harbhajan Singh is the third player to be on both sides of a hattrick, Darren Gough being the other.

So glad I'm off tomorrow and Monday. This looks like being one of the best test match in a long long time. This partnership is absolutely key to the whole match and possibly series in my opinion as if they can manage to get us infront you never know what might happen, especially with our tail or lack thereof.

Also, this was the 39th hat-trick in the history of Test cricket, and apparently the first time ever that India have been at the wrong end of one. :-O

How can Harbhajan be one of the three players to be on both sides of a hat-trick of India have never been on the wrong end of one?

Mine too.

Some players in your own mind deserve things like that happening to them and for me he is one of them.

In the interests of fairness I can fully understand fans of other countries saying the same about Stuart Broad.
