Was a low scoring series due to poor batting on both sides, imo. But that is my opinion and one I can see the majority disagreeing with, so fair enough.

Thought he was talking about Patel in 02, yeah karthik did a fantastic job in 07, but he hasn't really taken his game forward, he's had loads of chances, will have to score mountains of runs to get another

As an opener in Tests, he showed potential. But in every other format and position, he has flopped with the bat. Akhtar screwed him up in Pakistan after England 07 though, a couple times, and he never returned to the position. I recall that series, Akhtar had huge arms imaginable and looked like he was struggling to run in to bowl - still too quick for Karthik though.

I think Uday Kaul is someone who could have been given a chance.He has been ignored even for the emerging squad even after doing reasonably well last season.
