*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

and funny how everyone from their armchair have decided that zak's injury is due to being overweight and lazy when he clearly looked the best bowler from both sides in the short time he was there at the wicket.
Broad looked at least as good, if not better.

They have gone OTT. Sure it was a great win and yeah our form this last 2 years has been outstanding but one win doesn't necessarily herald some long term changing of the guard. On top of which as I said before, expect India to come back hard. Smacks a bit of hyperbole on the part of certain pundits and as we know, pride can come before a fall.
India can indeed only improve. This is basically the same team that got India to the #1 spot. They won't fail too many times in a row, right?

However, the 196 run included two declarations. It really was a big, big difference. I do not think that the English win was due to excellent form, alone. England's top six is imho better than India's. Sure no all-time greats (yet) in England's line up, but does that matter? And even if India's line-up is better, it is only marginally.
When it comes to bowlers and keeper, my view is that today:
Prior >> MS Dhoni
Anderson > Zaheer
Tremlett >> Praveen
Broad > Sharma
Swann >>> Harbhi

At Lord's I couldn't see India buy 20 wickets. I guess that can be acheived at Trent Bridge, but I still wouldn't bet my money on it. The way I see it, India's bowling is simply not good enough for England's batting.

Broad looked better than Zaheer by a considerable distance if you compare how they bowled. Broad attacked the stumps far more often and made the batsmen play at far more deliveries.

The margin of defeat has no relevance as an indicator of India's future performances. This is a team that has bounced back twice to win the next test after South Africa beat them by an innings on each occasion. I think England can do a better job of keeping the pressure on than South Africa though. It'll be an interesting test match.

You aren't seeing the wood for the trees here. What I saw was a bowler approaching his 33 birthday with a rather checkered fitness record who looked overweight, had missed the last test series and has had one FC match in about six months and then only bowled in one innings of it.

No-one's doubting Zaheer's quality (or if they are, I haven't seen it) but I'd say it's reasonable to suggest he hasn't taken every step he could to help ensure against injuries, because he patently hasn't.

It's largely dependent on Zaheer, I'd say. If he doesn't play I think they'll struggle to take twenty wickets even at TB.

Probably worth mentioning conditions as well. Zaheer couldn't have wished for better.

Forecast for tomorrow is for drizzle early in the morning before being overcast all day. Definitely a bowl first affair.

The sun's due to come out for the rest of the test too so it could be another terrible toss to lose.

what a ******** **** botham is! probably mumbled on when high, shocking to see such chestthumping comments which would put extreme fanboys to shame.

I hope this hilariously premature celebrations and mocking will fire up the indian contingent and give them a cause for fight in coming tests.

be a bit respectful and gracious fellas, atleast wait till u get ur hands on the no.1 spot before showing off.
Clearly you've not paid much attention to Botham if you're suprised at his comments.
