congratulations england. we have been thoroughly outplayed in all facets of the game. you deserve it. we were undercooked and worse our premium fast bowler,s gone too.

everything now rests on how we bat in 2nd innings, but not much hope there either.

ah ****, we'll have to settle for 3-1 win then.

Would you be seriously surprised if it were true though? Take Sharma and Sreesanth's consistent no ball problems. That struck me as a lack of discipline, closely related to a lack of professionalism.
No, wouldn't be surprised but, as I said, I just hope it's wrong.

In all equity Tremmers has a wee bit of a no ball issue too just now and his physique suggests he cracks the weights in his sleep.

T_C's point's a fair one tho; Zaheer and Sree both look to be carrying a little extra timber which, considering the occasion, is a pretty poor show.

Yeah, but in the case of Tremlett it's completely new. Bit of an indicator he might be slightly undercooked, actually.

lol.. if that is what you got warned for, then it is seriously poor form. But I would suggest email the mods.. They have the address somewhere here. Best to get these explanations outside the boards.

@anku Yep, that is harsh unless it was a persistent line of posting and baiting.

I wonder if Pietersen/Trott/Morgan hadn't hopped on the proverbial boat, who would have been batting in their place? I reckon Bopara would be there, though for how long I don't know, but who else? The pickings round county cricket are a little slim on the batting front. Michael Carberry maybe at no.3?

Actually we've got some tidy looking potential replacements just now, none of whom are called Ravinder Bopara, who's averageing a tick under 32 for the season.

James Hildreth has been there or thereabout for a while, but isn't having the best year, but other likely lads include James Taylor at Leics, Alex Hales from Notts, Ben Stokes from Durham (who bowls a bit too) & Varun Chopra from the Bears is finally fulfilling some of his undoubted potential.

Interesting how many of the India players have put on some pud. Don't they have gyms where they live?

I can understand batters being a bit chubs after a break but for quicks there's both no excuse for it and it really is dumb; so many preventable injuries are headed off at the pass by keeping your conditioning. For professional and practical reasons, there shouldn't be a Test fast bowler alive struggling for motivation to hit the track.
'Going to the gym' is not an Indian thing at all. At the highest level, I'm sure everyone has access to everything but it's just not something I've ever heard anyone do back in India - I bet even a lot of FC cricketers probably have never even seen the inside of a real gym. And there is probably very little nutritional guide and support if you're not in the international side (and Indian sweets = 98% sugar, while Indian food is like 100% carbs)...so if you're not really working out, you're going to gain a lot of weight very quickly.

Hildreth for sure,first of all.
Trescothick would have made a comeback.Look at his current season form.Top run getter @ 80 runs per innings.
Taylor & Compton the others would have made it into the XI.
