"Sachin Tendulkar was running a high fever when he came out to bat today...no wonder why he looked a li'll fidgety"

i found this comment

can anyone confirm this?/

prob explains why he looked a bit pale, and wasn't looking awesome defensively like he normally does.

edit-

Sachin Tendulkar batted with a running fever during India’s first innings on Saturday and left for the team hotel soon after he was out in the first Test, it has been learnt.

After he was out, caught at second slip off Stuart Broad, the little master left the ground for team hotel and it’s learnt he took antibiotics and preferred a good sleep for himself. He was thus understandably missing on the field when England began their second innings at the fag end of the day’s play.

In order to bat at his customary number four position, Tendulkar would be required to field during England’s second innings on the fourth day’s play on Sunday. In case he fails to do so, he could only come out to bat after the fall of India’s fifth wicket, whenever the visitors’ second innings is played.

Yes. Otherwise he would still be batting though it's now after 1 a.m there. No bowler can ever get him out, ever.

In other news, I stubbed my toe this morning.

I didn't see any of the match last night, but Broad must have bowled well. Not sure why some people are gnashing their teeth re: the declaration still. If Strauss and the England team can't weigh up where they are in the game and put on a few runs before declaring with enough time to bowl out India again then they deserve to draw the match.

It's not rocket surgery.

England bat 2 sessions and declare.
Makes sense to me.

England will be even more pleased than the scoreboard suggests considering that whilst Broad was magnificent and Swann very good, Tremlett was merely OK and Anderson strikingly poor. They'll do better than that. India will have to drastically improve on their discipline but now they have the template.

EDIT: Just saw a shot of Sreesanth on highlights. Bloody hell mate, lay off the burgers.

congratulations england. we have been thoroughly outplayed in all facets of the game. you deserve it. we were undercooked and worse our premium fast bowler,s gone too.

everything now rests on how we bat in 2nd innings, but not much hope there either.

ah ****, we'll have to settle for 3-1 win then.

Interesting how many of the India players have put on some pud. Don't they have gyms where they live?

I can understand batters being a bit chubs after a break but for quicks there's both no excuse for it and it really is dumb; so many preventable injuries are headed off at the pass by keeping your conditioning. For professional and practical reasons, there shouldn't be a Test fast bowler alive struggling for motivation to hit the track.

absence of work ethics really. we need an ironhander like andy flower for our young fast bowlers.

I sincerely hope you're wrong. The best quicks in particular are the best self-motivated trainers.

Seems like Sachin might not be on the field tomorrow and that could delay when he comes out to bat.

Would you be seriously surprised if it were true though? Take Sharma and Sreesanth's consistent no ball problems. That struck me as a lack of discipline, closely related to a lack of professionalism.
