After. Knee jerk reaction after wc 2007 exit.Gotcha. Thanks. I believe this was the SA series before the 2007 WC
Well most of the times a player's form goes down around this age. That's what I was trying to get at.shouldn't be too hard for him to maintain that avg tbh. All he has to do is bat for about 60 balls per innings on average and he'll achieve that.
In contrast, someone like dravid has to face alot more deliveries to keep avging 50+ (around 125 balls on avg).
Haha I remember Jaffer scoring a 200 in really quick time in one of the matches. Imagine if Sehwag had got going, would probably have broken Lara's record lol. The pitches were very flat and Pakistan had some **** attacks as well in that series, under Shoaib Malik.Yep.
Both Sehwag and Harbhajan were dropped for that England tour. But in Sehwag's case it was more due to his ODI form weirdly than his test form.
He played all the 3 matches in South Africa though, was only shifted down the order for one match IIRC.
After that he then wasn't picked for the tour to Bangladesh, and also England. What's more is that stupidly they also decided not to play him against Pakistan at home .
In the ICC greatest team?Jaffer was a classy player. He lacked some feet movement but could have been a perfect partner for Sehwag!
he's not a guy who'll play for long as he''s not really that fit.Well most of the times a player's form goes down around this age. That's what I was trying to get at.
I am pretty sure he will be playing till the next world cup unless he sustains any serious injuries.he's not a guy who'll play for long as he''s not really that fit.
Just another average cricketer, can only score big in Indian conditions.Jaffer was a classy player. He lacked some feet movement but could have been a perfect partner for Sehwag!
Yep.Don't know why they need bother, tbh.
i can make a better xi than this using players not selected in both cricinfo and icc XIs.Worst idea
Pick a team of the modern era and include Bradman. I suppose any player not an Indian would feel justified being included
Like this team, good effort matei can make a better xi than this using players not selected in both cricinfo and icc XIs.
