How does Harbhajan manage to stray down the legside so many times, with a 100 Tests experience?

Thanks in advance

I've been extremely disappointed with how Harbhajan has bowled. I know there's nothing in the pitch for him and that he's been employed at irregular times for long spells because Zaheer's injury, but he's by far the best bowler in the rotation at the moment so I would've expected some more variation and thought in his bowling. He's just bowled darts and his line and fields have got more and more defensive as the match has progressed to a point of the ridiculous now. The role he's played could've been covered quite easily by Raina or Yuvraj; he's been that innocuous. A real let-down after the massive strides he was making in South Africa, regardless of the pitch conditions, IMO.

Remember during the SL series when certain people mocked and derided those of us who said JP's last two innings had signalled a return to form?

Yeah, suck it ****s

I have never really rated Harbhajan as highly as some others do, he can be very dangerous on a day 5 pitch but he is very rarely any good before day 5 and his head goes down far too easily for a guy with so much experience. This performance has been a typical Harbhajan one.

Agree Prince, Harbhajan has been incredibly disappointing. Called it very early when I was at the ground yesterday that he was darting them in.

Meanwhile I'm very proud of Praveen today. Has just kept putting in and has bowled pretty well despite being up against it with little support (quantity and quality of bowling). Hopefully this leads to giving him more and more confidence as the series and his career goes on.

Agreed. This around the wicket line is odd and he is being smacked around by Prior .

It's not the greatest pitch in the world for spinners, but I wouldn't say there is nothing. A couple have turned pretty noticably, certainly would have been enough to interest Swann I would have thought.

And as I type Kumar finds another edge.

Praveen again! Hope he gets five, really deserves it TBH. Not that he has much competition for wickets lol.

Have to say that if Goughy made a comment like that he is seriously misinformed. There aren't 5 bowlers in the international game that have the same mastery of seam and swing as Praveen does. Considering he is only 24 that is remarkable. As I said earlier, he might run into problems when the ball isn't moving around as much but his selection for the tour of England and for this game is a masterstroke in foresight and hindsight. I cant imagine Sreesanth bowling 40+ overs in this inning as Praveen will inevitably bowl.
Lol. "Mastery".

He the new Alec Bedser?

Great innings from Prior that. Probably the most destructive wicket keepers in Test cricket these days.

I'd like to see us try to give them the run around here, start whacking it and try to get into a position to declare with 40-30 minutes left.

Well bowled Praveen. Very much deserved.

Prior took the game away from India though. Top knock.

Matt Prior saw Praveen was getting upset at this hammering he and KP had delivered, so he gave the dobber a wicket to boost his morale.

Prior will be kicking himself there. It did bounce and leave him slightly, but I think he's talked himelf out of a ton.
