3rd Test vs Pakistan
Keeping an unchanged side, CW won the toss and batted in the series decider.
Heads and Narang started quickly during the opening partnership of 60, but Heads fell for 26 and soon after Narang began to find himself fighting a lone hand. Making his way to 126, no batsman stayed with him as Narang was eventually the ninth man out. CW were bowled out within an hour of the close for 246.
However, Noble hit back for the home side as he managed to get both openers out before stumps. When Yousuf was caught in the deep off Winne, Pakistan were already in a shaky position at 90/3 when the spinners made their mark in the afternoon.
Dean and Corrin took a brace each as Pakistan collapsed to 97/7. Only Moin Khan (48 off 130) showed any real fight as he batted with the tail, and the tourists were grateful for Shoaib and Gul's hitting scraping the score past 200.
Heads was out early in the reply, but Narang was to prove too much on the third day. Putting on 198 with Riley and Spark - Riley having been retired hurt after a brutal bouncer from Gul reared under his grill - the opener compiled his second century of the match.
CW were in control when he was bowled by Anjum, leaving Dharan and Spark to press home the advantage in the evening session, and push the lead past 400 with attacking half-centuries.
The home side did not have everything their own way on the fourth morning, as Pakistan ensured the search for quick runs would not go without wickets. Gul was the main beneficiary as CW stuttered from 399-3 to 443-9, with 9 down being all out due to Riley's injury.
However, the home side saw that as simply giving them more time to bowl the opposition out, with a target of 485 in just over five sessions looking very distant. Winne once again got the early wicket of Shoaib Khan, but Taufeeq and Yousuf shut up shop in their efforts. Both batsmen managed to see out the rest of the day, and at 130-1 at stumps, worries were starting to arise from the CWers.
It was not to be, however, as Dean removed both overnight batsmen in quick succession, and CW continued to chip away. With only Razzaq showing real fight, Pakistan steadily slid to 315 all out as the hosts claimed a comfortable victory and a memorable series win.
CW won by 169 runs and won the series 2-1
