Considering the form is he in, Dhoni as well try some left arm to get the chap out.Picked to get Pietersen out, perhaps.

Haha, all through this discussion, I'd forgotten Rohit exists. I'd definitely have taken him ahead of Yuvraj.First test defeat more or less assured now, unless there is brilliance from tendulkar and laxman.Should have taken rohit sharma instead of yuvraj.

Yuvraj has penty of international experience, has a fantastic Duleep recordand averages 40 in Test cricket under Dhoni.Anyone who has watched a decent amount of Indian FC cricket over the last 3-4 years just cannot select Yuvraj ahead of Badrinath for the England tests. It's as simple as that.
I'm afraid our selectors don't actually watch most FC matches and are just occasional FC match on tv/Every ODI match watchers like most of us. That'd be immensely tragic.
I'm disappointed but not surprised. This is a new low.
None of your potential number 6s carry that guarantee, so it makes sense to pick the guy who's actually managed a bit of success at Test level.Contingent to Raina ,who is no guarantee by any means of doing well.
While I see your point to an extent, if you follow that logic through all the way to the end, Marcus North would've played on forevermore until he retired because none of the alternatives had ever played a game and thus had achieved less than him by default. At some stage there does have to be an element of "you've had lots of chances and your performances aren't up to what we think we have in reserve, so we're going to give someone else an extended run".None of your potential number 6s carry that guarantee, so it makes sense to pick the guy who's actually managed a bit of success at Test level.
Right here, right now, there's no-one more deserving of the number 6 slot than Raina. While I see your point to an extent, if you follow that logic through all the way to the end, Marcus North would've played on forevermore until he retired because none of the alternatives had ever played a game and thus had achieved less than him by default. There's no doubt Raina has achieved more at Test level than the other alternatives so far, but the question is whether or not he's achieved enough in the opportunities he's been given to persevere with him over those who have had far less chances.
hopefully the no 6 is not needed to contribute much till the fourth test ..Right here, right now, there's no-one more deserving of the number 6 slot than Raina.
If he has a shocker of a series in England, you re-evaluate.

Atleast we have our excuses ready.
