and i have never understood why djokovic is that unlikable...? is it the way he mimics the other players or something?
No the impressions of players is what made many a fan of his. In 2007 he was incredibly popular (see Wimbledon and US Open). People started to dislike him in 2008 when he would get upset when the crowd were not cheering for him (2008 Australian Open final when the crowd were completely behind Tsonga). He then also turned the whole US crowd against him at the US Open in 2008 when he reacted after beating Roddick to Roddick's comments at a press conference inferring Novak fakes injuries.

DCYE was the first on board disliking him. I remember that in early 2008 (when it looked like Novak was going to be the one to challenge Fed, not Rafa).

His gamesmanship has annoyed people at times too. Bouncing of the balls a million times, injury timeouts and retirements.

His family also has pissed people off.

I've always been a fan (though I did think he has been soft at times) but could understand why people may have disliked him from 2008-2010. But I just can't see how anyone can dislike him now. He showed amazing courage in the 2010 US Open, and ever since he has been awesome on the court, and pretty great off the court for a guy who basically cannot lose.
I dislike him because of the ball bounce and his hissyfit that he threw in the Davis Cup a few years back. Plus his poodle has a Twitter feed, ffs.
Nah mate he's a ****.
****ing Nadal. Possibly the first time I've wanted him to win ever and he ****s up.

Djokovic is just such a bell-end.
As you can see from above, plenty of people aren't fans of his.

Would love to know what peoples particular reasons are. To me he's a different guy in 2011 compared to what he was in 2008.

I used to hate Djokovic quite a bit until this year. Hated him for his ball bouncing, retiring at the drop of a hat and also for his family. Their "The king is dead. Long live the king" line after beating Federer pushed him to the top of my hate list.

Last US Open semifinals was my first time at a Grand Slam and was really hoping for a Federer win. Somehow that win of Djokovic turned it around for me. Even though I was pissed at Federer losing, I couldn't help but admire his talent. His service return during that game was off the top drawer. Also beating Nadal so consistently this year helps.

Now he is like third on my like list after Roger, and Del Potro.

You attended the semi final at last year's US Open?

That is so awesome. Would have been a brilliant atmosphere. Especially when Novak saved match points.

Good call regarding his family saying "The king is dead" line after the 2008 Australian Open. Was in poor taste, especially as it came after Novak beat a Federer suffering from mononucleosis

It's good to see Nadal being owned by a player for a change so that this "Federer is soooo mentally weak because Nadal dominates him head-to-head" bollocks can stop. Wonder what that makes Djokovic, to beat the King of Mental Strength in five consecutive finals on every surface.

Lol at comparing 6 months of dominance in a head-to-head match-up to 5 years.

Yup it was totally awesome. The crowd was totally brilliant through the game. Was devastated though that Federer lost just for the second time in 7 years on the day I went.
