Gillispie never got much reverse like Ishant does though tbf he was quicker then Ishant looking back again yeah not much in them. You cannot be serious !
Gillespie at his best was MUCH better than ishant at his best
Either they have learned to play spin in the course of a month, which is unlikely, so like I said yesterday, it seems Ajmal >> Harbhajan. TBF to him though, yesterday he was effectively bowling on a day 3/early day 4 pitch and had a catch dropped and some close LBWs rejected. Plus getting rid of Devon Smith helps...helpful pitches or not Harbhajan should be running through this batting lineup atleast once in 4 trys they are terrible against spin.
Gillespie could move it both ways with a degree of comfort, Ishant can only get it to straighten a bit with his action...Gillispie never got much reverse like Ishant does though tbf he was quicker then Ishant looking back again yeah not much in them.
anyone who watched gillespie during the tours to India in 2001 and 2004 would never ever say thisGillispie never got much reverse like Ishant does though tbf he was quicker then Ishant looking back again yeah not much in them.
this and a lot more things .... the two are not even remotely comparable IMO ... gillespie was a FAR more complete and better bowler at his peakGillespie could move it both ways with a degree of comfort, Ishant can only get it to straighten a bit with his action...
Cannot simply rely upon a first class average to judge a player. Vijay averages 61.08 playing for Tamil Nadu, and he has struggled at the next level.Just looked at Rahane stats an FC average of 67.72 O.o
He must be here instead of **** vijay
most of them on the roads od chepauk which is why he and mukund looked so rank in this series.... I think badri's stats also need to be taken with a pinch of salt, given I have never ever seen him comfortable in any of his int innings so far. although badri has much more experience, so could be the ramprakash factor too.Cannot simply rely upon a first class average to judge a player. woot?he's averaging 48.64 !!Cannot simply rely upon a first class average to judge a player. Vijay averages 61.08 playing for Tamil Nadu, and he has struggled at the next level.
Relevance to my initial point?woot?he's averaging 48.64 !!

It was given the innings and situation but it was only replay that it transpired it was a shocker from Rudi. This however was not out in real-time or anytime for that matter. I had it on mute but doubtlessly if Sunil was around, he probably thought it was a good shout. The worst umpiring decision I ever personally saw was Sangakarra in Australia...he was on 192.....it was so horrible.
TBF, he did that a LOT when Australia toured India in 2008 when we fielded what I thought was our best attack in recent memory, both on form and for the conditions available..He is getting the ball to straighten a bit!!!An added dimension to his bowling!!!

You do realise Shiv was trying to save the match...?It was given the innings and situation but it was only replay that it transpired it was a shocker from Rudi. Good to see Baugh play well under pressure. Was worried Ramdin might have to comeback. What to do with Sarwan and Shiv though? Chanderpaul faced 200+ balls this match and didn't even score 50 runs. Sarwan is gone, looks hopeless against anything on or around off-stump but Shiv is able to bat time but unable to score any runs. Maybe get Simmons down to 3 and recall Kraig.
But that's the thing ,all these West Indian batsman and bowlers seem to perform in lost causes ,not when it matters most and makes a difference.Yeah, he played some good knocks in the ODIs coming in at dire situations. His keeping has always been very tidy. Thankfully the runs he got yesterday didn't come in the first Test (and Samuels wasn't picked) because that chase was fairly gettable.
