Ishant has been pretty decent at home so far in his career.
Many times people tend to forget that for some reason.

Averages 28 at home :p
I wasn't really comparing his home/away averages though, just saying that it's a lot more likely that his average will take a beating on a sub-continent pitch than overseas. Although Australia has some flat ass pitches too, even worse than Indian pitches.

His average took the most beating in South Africa and Australia tbf.

Ishant problem was not sub cont tracks but short and wide rubbish got some really helpful tracks in SA but still averaged near 50 has comeback well and actually looks a better version of Gillispie when he's on song.

For Windies to compete they need Shiv and Sarwan to contribute similar to Dravid and Laxman. The bowling is evenish the young batsman on both sides are inconsistent while Baugh is outperforming Dhoni:ph34r:

Yeah that's just about the only tour where he really took a beating, but still I think that his bad days will more often than not come in the sub-continent. Just wait till he bowls at Ahemdabad or Hydrabad

The middle order were better, but it was a poor show from the top three. Not sure how it can be seen as an overall good batting performance.
Yeah, but there was some good bowling by India as well. I was impressed how Bravo and Baugh stood up after Shiv's bad decision and a bit of weakness at that stage could have seen them crumble. They didn't.

ishanth already has 16 wickets in this series, I think his best series tally ever. what more, he has bowled more overs than anyone including harby.

Cheap fiver in the 2nd innings boosted his figures a bit TBH. :p

But yeah, much as I don't enjoy his style of bowling, if he keeps this up, I might start to have to grudgingly give him credit for bowling more wicket-taking balls than I initially thought he did. That jaffa to Mukund in particular was immense.

EDIT : Referring to Edwards.

Oh, and I was watching this in bed last night so I couldn't post, but I thought I'd just say..

Baugh

Don't know why I have so much faith in him, but I do, and he's played some important innings on this tour.

Yeah, he played some good knocks in the ODIs coming in at dire situations. His keeping has always been very tidy. Thankfully the runs he got yesterday didn't come in the first Test (and Samuels wasn't picked) because that chase was fairly gettable. :p

The third Test is being held at a ground called Roseau.. haven't heard of it before. Has it hosted any Tests? Wonder what the pitch will behave like.

Given that both sides had good performances, some people might take refuge in the cliche that 'no one deserved to lose' and that therefore, the weather interruptions were divine justice. However, it is a fact of life that performances that 'don't deserve to be on the losing side' often are. The whole act of calling off the match right at the moment when the sun started shining brightly again had a slightly farcical feel to it.

Surely if conditions are fit to play, with a result on the cards and with valuable time already lost, the match must go on? Then too, it was known from before the Test started that weather would play a major role in it. Doesn't it become incumbent on the ICC to ensure that the weather threat is minimized by having as much play as possible? What we saw instead, was teams sitting inside for the lunch and tea breaks during sunshine and then being forced to sit inside during rain interruptions.

There are common-sense solutions to problems like these (play on during scheduled breaks if conditions are good in rain threatened matches; play on if the light looks good etc). They don't require any major changes in the laws of the game, or any earth-shaking developments. The ICC has got its hair in a tangle over the merits or otherwise of the DRS, the FTP and several other acronyms. These are all good things to worry about - but at a more basic level, perhaps the ICC should first ensure that it is possible to play cricket first.
Draw - a fair result? | Cricket News | Cricbuzz.com

Some pretty silly decisions were made about going off for scheduled lunch/tea even after shortened sessions etc.. a result could have been achieved in this match with a bit of common sense by the umpires.
