*Official* - India in West Indies

Although a big score is par for this pitch, and obviously the goal is to get as many as they can, I think 250 if they can get there will at least be defendable and will probably give them a chance to chase something in the fourth innings even if they go behind in the first innings (which they obviously most likely will).

You're not taking the opposition batsmen into account. India have to be realistic here and look to achieve a minimum of 230 or 250. Anything beyond that would be good, but it's better to think in small, manageable increments.

This West Indian batting has a unique knack to self-combust. Bhajji and Mishra need to bowl with good discipline and the rest would follow.

I saw them against Pakistan's Ajmal, Rehman and Hafeez looking like schoolkids. If there's a team of international batsmen more clueless against spin, I haven't seen them.
Yeah, they seem to have a ceiling of about 225-230 that they are unable to cross lately. Hopefully we can put up at least that much.

Seriously, India post 250+ and they're in the box seats IMHO. It's gotta be so deflating for a tyro attack to have allowed the oppo to regroup from 85/6. Will feed into the whole team.

Sort of reminds me of the first Test in SA in 2006. India had just lost the ODI series 0-5 and they were reduced to like nine wickets but then the last wicket hitting really got them to like 250 got them pumped up and India came out and bowled out of their skins to bowl SA out for 81. Obviously that'd be a dream scenario but there's some truth to the psychological benefit of 'getting out of a tough spot' like that. Still, I dunno about being in the box seat with 250.

The recent Pakistan-WI game was the perfect example TBH. They were 190-9 or something, got to 260 odd, took a small first innings lead and cruised it from there.

Haha I still remember that. It was such a depressing day and I was expecting us to be shot out of the Test match as usual, considering India's drubbing in the ODIs right before and how that day turned out where everyone was saying it was a 350+ pitch.

That was also the Sreesanth-Nel dancing match. And Sreesanth's career high point in the first innings. One of the best Test matches I've watched. First win on SA soil.

****ING HELL!

Harbhajan almost ran Raina out there.

Get a hold of yourselves boys.

Lucky Sammy missed that.

Makes up for it by pulling Sammy for 4.

This is gold. Having a number 8 that can bat is so valuable in situations like these.

There's no question that this is a decent pitch for batting, especially when the ball gets softer after 10-15 overs. Really good value for shots.

It wasn't the new ball that was the problem earlier. It wasn't coming on quite as well because of the moisture which is gone now.
