what?? You don't need to bowl slower to generate swing.
Anderson was bowling in the 132-136 range, which isn't quick.
Didn't he used to bowl around the 140 k mark?
Sometimes the ball doesn't swing properly at really high pace. Steyn, when he bowled that ludicrous spell of outswingers in the 3rd Test, seemed to drop his pace back to roughly what Anderson is bowling now, maybe a tad quicker.

It's seriously close. So it's down to how much evidence the third umpire wants before he overturns. Reasonable descison, but you have to say it's kind of unfair to lose a review when there's so little in it.
I used to think that, but since the idea of UDRS is to eliminate howlers I actually think it's fair enough.

I can't remember watching a genuine swing bowler bowl a spell of pure swing much above the 85-87 mark. MJ is just a freak and when he swings it no-one knows why, not even himself.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but Steyn seems to be a fast bowler first, who gets the odd one to swing a little bit or a lot! Which is scary and nearly impossible to face. What makes him even better is that he can bring the pace down and bowl a spell of pure swing when the conditions are right.

Anderson vs Sachin will be so good, Steyn-Sachin battle at Cape Town? is one of the best modern day battles I have ever witnessed.

Wasim, Waqar, Imran, Marshall, Lillee all swung the ball at express pace (in their respective pomps).

I'm 20 and I can't remember that :)

And you've basically just listed some of the greatest bowlers of all time, so i'm told.

It was the best spell of fast-bowling I have ever seen (on a sunny day at least)
Just checked the speeds- he operated at around 135-140, usually bowls at 140-145.
Besides the swing, the other thing that stood out that day was his accuracy, which was like Mcgrath-like- can't recall him being driven.

Well even when Steyn bowls slighly slower, he still looks quick (as he's a skiddy bowler- Anderson's kinda skiddy too now that i think about it)

The thing thats holding zaheer back from being a even better bowler is his speed- Top batsmen are able to adjust to his swing because they have that much more time to play, so Speed is crucial!!
