Federer takes the 4th in a tiebreak!

Unbelievable match. That was a privilege to watch.

So tense. Novak fought to the very end and was courageous throughout, but Federer was just THAT good. His hitting to break Novak when he was serving for the 4th was indescribable.

Yeah, such amazing odds. Especially with all the pressure on Novak and no one being sure whether him having a walkover would be beneficial or a hindrance.

Burgey you followed me in for Rafa overall yeah?

You can hedge your bets and guarantee profits now.

Glorrrrrrrrrrrrrious! Rafa at $3.50 was the greatest gift I may have ever seen.

Nice. :)

See if you can watch proper highlights of that match, in particular that 1st set and the end of the 4th.

I know you're a huge Fed fan so you will love it! Brilliant tennis.

I saw that stat. It's unbelievable.

Ohtahni's jacket, you may know this. Am I right in saying that including all 5 set matches (Davis Cup and the old Masters 1000s use/d 5 set matches) Roger hasn't lost a match after being 2 sets up since his match with Hewitt in the 2003 Davis Cup?

Saw a stat that Novak has made the quarters of the last 8 slams. If he wants Fed's record as it currently stands he'd need to do it in every Slam til the 2016 French Open or something.

Utterly ridiculous.

Still don't think he can beat Rafael on clay though. But if he does it would be just about be the ultimate exclamation mark to an insane career.

Even if he loses the Final, it puts a bit of an extra exclamation mark on Federer's career, he took on the unstoppable force of 2011 and he won, on the surface that has probably suited him least over his career and he's supposed to be on the wane.

Obviously he has a legacy beyond that, but it's sort of like Steve Waugh's ton against England off the last ball. Especially if Rafa beats him in the Final, just like how England won the Test!

:( Novak

Glad it was Federer (and Fed at his best) that broke the streak instead of Nadal though (y)

lol, Novak.

Had a clear path to #1, and ****ed it up
....yeah, was clearly easy as, only had to (again) overcome the best of all time, and then maybe best clay court player of all time, dunno wtf he was thinking really....

Novak would've been #1 had he beat Roger. Rafa doesn't even come into the equation.

Also, Novak of 2011 >>>>>> Roger of 2011 (up until this).

Yeah it's remarkable really that he's played in, what, five French finals on his "worst" surface. You could argue hrs actually among the top echelon of clay courters himself, only he's run into Nadal.

Yeah I feel he could get into the top 3 clay courters of all time. Older tennis fans are likely to disagree, however.

Indeed,

Either way, you're a fool if you seriously thought it should have just been a walk in the park against...Roger Federer ffs
