**Official** Sri Lanka in England / Scotland - 2011

You think so? I didn't see much turn myself, I'd have been pretty surprised to have done on day one. Herath was giving it some nice flight but very little turn from what I could see.
He turned 2 or 3 deliveries, one of which was definately out of the foot marks.

Hey guys, anyone know what Nick Knight did to deserve elevation to the Test commentary team?

Howe_zat;2574904 The fact that we're looking at around 400 tomorrow is brilliant.[/QUOTE said:
Just picking this quote, but it could have been another.

England are looking at 400+++

From this moment on, 400 would be poor. I can see Prior, Broad & Swann taking it away

Isn't Prasanna Jayawardene supposed to be good?
Supposedly. He's been sloppy whenever I've got the chance to watch him play however.
I'm a big fan of Prasanna with the gloves, despite his excellent ton in the first Test, I don't he's good enough with the bat to go in at six on a regular basis. From what bits I've seen today he has looked a little sloppy, he's not the first touring keeper to struggle at Lords though. His keeping to Murali from what I saw of it, was generally very good, so maybe he's just not at his sharpest, expect him to improve as the series goes on.

Had a good day at the game today - Sri Lanka's negativity was made up for by some entertaining batting by Morgan and Prior, as well as another long Cook innings (not complaining), this time under a bit more pressure too. Shame to see him miss out on another ton, though.

It was actually quite good to see us kinda struggling at one point, made for a more enriching experience . Nah but it was better. Food a bit expensive, but that was the only problem I had.

Cook averaging more than Pietersen now. Who would have guessed that a couple years ago?

Last time I went away England lost some early wickets at Lord's and Broad tonned up.

Am off to Krakow tomorrow so I'm expecting 600+ here.

Not many people.

But as he's not following this thread, I will admit that I remember that SS used to bang on and on about how Cook would score more runs, hundreds and have a better average than KP.

However, as Brumby is fond of saying, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Bell maybe but Prior doesn't have enough. It's his lack of versatilty that makes him so poor as an ODI batsman.
Prior has his favourite shots, and if you bowl straight at him for long enough he flays out and plays one of those shots at balls that he shouldn't. Australia did it well early in the Ashes, but as the series wore on it was like they didn't care about how to bowl at him, just tried knicking him off every ball rather than wearing him down.

Was so frustrating, watching a guy that they had the number of early on being let off the hook, because it said something about the mental fragility of the team.

Looks like it'll be a gorgeoues day.

If we get an hour and a half or Prior & Broad/Swann we could easily top 450.

All three keep the bowlers interested tho, so could be a cracking morning session.

Am I correct in saying that today will be when Howe_zat's tones will be airing over Test Match Sofa?

Well I think that shot is revealing as to the method of this morning.

EDIT: 50 partnership, that was quick.

Be interesting to try to keep a tally of how many times "upish" or "upishly" are used by the comms when Broad drives.
