English Domestic Season 2011

What's happened to Rashid?

Started the season with a bang and now seems to be just getting worse game by game! His batting seems to be all out of sorts aswell!
And it doesn’t look good when the opposition’s opener and part-time offie is turning It square. Sussex’s squad is pretty darn good though, batting looks very solid and lots of bowling options and variety.

It has been terrible so far and the side we've got, there's no reason for it. Too many batsmen out of nick, Lythe has been woeful, Sayers, well he's rubbish imo, Root's done all right and so has Gale, but nearly every match, the openers are out early which is putting huge pressure on the middle order. Generally, the top 5 batsmen are not making enough big scores, when they get in, and it has killed us.
The only positive is Bairstow, who has rescued us from even more embarrassment on a few occasions.
Get Gary Ballance opening. Chris Tavaré 2 and Square Root are probably the worst and most boring opening partnership going in county cricket.

They've only been together for two matches though. Adam Lyth was supposed to be the strokeplaying opener and he's been dropped.

5 for Matt Dunn on his Championship debut!
Yup, we did pretty well out of Dernbach's call-up. Given time, our new-found policy of bringing some local talent through the ranks might just get us somewhere. At least they're trying to do that now, which wasn't the case for most of the 2000's.

Elsewhere, Durham are looking thoroughly awesome again.

Bairstow with a good counter-attacking innings for Yorkshire, who may well struggle to hold off Sussex deep into their match.

At this rate the England team could have an abundance of gingers in a few years time, with Stokes, Morgan, Bairstow to name a few. Lucky Colly has retired, cause we'd be filling up the quota many times over.

Bairstow showing rest of the team, how it is done once again. Good to see Ballance doing well, he's good young player, like someone said earlier, should open the batting and get Sayers out of there.

Good save from Yorkshire, have attempted it the last few matches, but they've come unstuck with their boring grind, but this time it worked.

Stokes could be out for 6 weeks they reckon, shame, thought he may have a chance of an ODI call-up. Still more room for Buttler and Hildreth.

Some entertaining slogging from Trego in the Somerset/Hants T20.

Would guess 45 of his 50 have been scored on the on side.

Young Danny Briggs looking a lot more impressive than Imran Tahir too.

Coolio.

Buttler replaces Trego.

Interestingly Martin Saggers is the 3rd umpire today. He was a test bowler five minutes ago, wasn't he?
