The team news today will be very interesting. Should Shahzad or Onions be left out of their sides matches it might be a pointer to the test match next week at Lords.

Seems like a tough day for us, we are fighting as usual but look like we might be short of a competetive total. If we could squeak to 350 it would be nice.

Good day for Sussex, if a bit slow - 295-2 with young Luke Wells getting his 3rd hundred of the season (143no) and an unbeaten hundred for Goodwin.

We are looking quite the outfit now, after our initial drubbing-and-a-half at the hands of the Wet Boys. I doubt we'd be championship contenders but I'm really pleased with how we're playing.

Yes was really impressed with the three days of cricket I watched of them when they played Notts on Sky. Steady runs coming from Nash, Joyce, and the exciting Wells, with Goodwin chipping in with a couple of tons, and an impressive bowling attack. Anyon has caught my eye, bowled really well against Notts with pace and aggression. Now you've got Parnell in there to freshen things up and continue on from Rana Naved's good stint.

Look a decent unit.

Essexs have gone in to today's game against Gloucester with just the three specialist bowlers, so hoping that all-rounders Bopara and the returning RTD chip in througout the game with their fair share of overs. Has worked so far with Gloucester being reduced to 229-8. Essex's problems have been with the bat but it looks a pretty deep batting line-up for this one.

Poor day from Yorkshire, Shahzad doesn't seem to be bowling that well atm and with Bresnan injured, the attack isn't performing as well as it should be.

548-4 declared, Goodwin 274no.
Now let's see how our Saffer debutants get on. Apparently Parnell got off the plane at 6.30am yesterday and was drafted straight into the team.

Goodwin WAG! Started following Sussex's progress after I picked him in my CWPL team

Taylor seriously needs to leave Leicestershire!

Middle order just constantly collapsing around him!

Stokeseh Stokeseh Stokeseh.

Looks such a good prospect, he's just hit a highest score of 185, which is also his 5th hundred, and he's not even turned 20 yet.

Onions now has just over a day to get at the Lancs now, so long as it don't rain.

Yorkshire going down. Absolutely woeful this season. :@
It has been terrible so far and the side we've got, there's no reason for it. Too many batsmen out of nick, Lythe has been woeful, Sayers, well he's rubbish imo, Root's done all right and so has Gale, but nearly every match, the openers are out early which is putting huge pressure on the middle order. Generally, the top 5 batsmen are not making enough big scores, when they get in, and it has killed us.
The only positive is Bairstow, who has rescued us from even more embarrassment on a few occasions.
The bowling line up, which on paper is a s good as anyone's, just hasn't been doing their job. Rashid has looked very poor and has struggled to give the Captain control, as well as not taking wickets. Shahzad as well, just can't seem to land the ball on a consistent line and length,he's not taking wickets and has even been expensive. Siddy's done alright but I'd have thought, he'd have taken a few more in the conditions we've had.

Surrey’s top order doesn’t like to mess around. Jason Virender Roy has a FC SR above 100, RHB 77, Steve Davis 63, Tom Maynard 62 and neither Ramps or Zander de Bruyn are slouches. With that top order, Derbyshire will not be looking for a declaration.

Good return for Parnell. Showing Lopsy how it is done, gets off the plane on the day of the game and has taken 4 wickets so far. Encouraging debut also for RSA U19 all-rounder, Kirk Werners taking two wickets and bowling economically. Though apparently he was just bowling medium pace here...
