Stormers, Sharks and Bulls remaining fixtures...

Stormers (48 points): Brumbies (a), Rebels (a), Bulls (h), Cheetahs (a)
Sharks (43 points): Waratahs (h), Cheetahs (a), Lions (a), Bulls (a)
Bulls (40 points): Cheetahs (h), Waratahs (h), Stormers (a), Sharks (h)

Bulls got the easier run-in. Sharks look done with that run-in. 3 games against the Stormers and Bulls this year, 3 defeats, 0 points. Say what you will about the Bulls but they have the big match players and they turned up last night. Completely dominated the Sharks.

The Cheetahs will be the big banana skin. Currently 4 in 4, a record for the franchise, scored more tries than any other South African side this year and they too have a chance (very slim) of making the play-offs.

Cheetahs have been great the last few rounds, some fantastic rugby being played. Good to see them finally being competitive and upsetting a few teams along the way (Tahs in particular).

Think the table will end up something like:
1.Reds
2.Blues
3 Stormers
4.Saders
5. Bulls
6. Tahs.

2 from each conference would be perfect....particularly a home semi and GF for the Reds...red coloured glasses much? :p

Pretty reliant on winning in Pretoria next week though. I recall them doing that in the Currie Cup 18 months ago but that was obviously the Currie Cup XV and the Bulls turned it around at the business end of the season anyway.

Commentators bagging the Waratahs again. Guess 29-12 with five tries isn't good enough.

****s me this "running rugby" mania. If you haven't got the players, settle for winning rugby, eh?
With burgey tbh - The Tah's might not play pretty Rugby but it is winning rugby. If you don't have the cattle you can't cook a steak.
& this is what it feels like being an English rugby fan...

I don't know if anyone saw the Heineken Cup final yesterday, but Northampton managed to piss away a 16 point lead at the break and lost by 11. Now, with players like Geraghty, Foden and Ashton in their backs one can understand Jimmys' ambition to play some expansive rugby, but at the same time there's no way on God's earth Leicester or Sarries would've lost from there. Would've shoved the ball up their jumpers.

Win first; everything else second.

Well done HDS.

Edit: BTW Somerset, did you give 1 to either call for the Force-Brumbies draw?
Edit2: Nevermind

I gave no points for the draw since in theory you can tip the draw. I think a few members tried to tip draws last season and I said I'd give about 3 points if they were successful in doing so.

Waiting to see if Hougaard is ruled out for before deciding who to tip. du Preez is already gone and if Hougaard doesn’t make it, the Bulls will have a serious problem at 9 given their third choice scrumhalf is also injured. Cheetahs have injury problems of their own; no locks + Brussouw will probably not play again until the Currie Cup.
