Stormers chucking away a 17 point lead in 5 minutes.

That after a great first half and awesome solo try from Aplon - made Mills and Sivi look ready for the knacker's yard.

Currently liking the Cheetahs to make it 3 in 3 and beat the Saders next week. Last time they met at Bloem, the Cheetahs won and the likes of McCaw and Thorn played in that fixture. And it may have only been the Lions but the Cheetahs were awesome on Friday night. Great to watch.

How did the Stormers lose that? ****ing hell.
Aplon yellow + penalty try and they just lost the plot. For the entire second half they must have spent all of 2 minutes in the Chiefs half. Completely dominated. Peter Grant was useless, never seen him pass the ball. Another stand out performance from Sias Ebersohn at 10 against the Crusaders, must be in with a chance of featuring in the Tri-Nations.

Bulls Rebel game was seriously poor. The Bulls who have been try shy all year were 40 points up by half-time, and even Meisiekind got a hat-trick. The Cheetahs will fancy their chances of putting 50 on them next week.

Bizarre round, some very low scoring tips which I'll update shortly. I considered the Cheetahs' chances against an injury-hit Crusaders but I couldn't bring myself to tip the upset given their victory over the Stormers in Cape Town last week. Obviously picking the Lions never came into consideration. Worth noting that both the Lions and Cheetahs, widely regarded as the worst two teams in the competition over recent years, have both won a match away from home in Australia this season against two traditionally good Aussie teams.

Grant was really poor in the second half and I wonder if those sort of performances are casting doubt over his Springbok chances. Erersohn was very good in the Cheetahs' matches in Australia/New Zealand and I'm inclined to take your word that he was a star for the Cheetahs over the past few weeks in South Africa too. Aplon's try was absolutely brilliant but he needlessly gave away that penalty try at the start of the second half. I'm not 100% sure whether Kahui would've been able to ground it without the impediment so in the end his actions were rather unnecessary and kicked off the Stormers' demise. They certainly look good when they're dominating but appear to be clueless when chasing matches.

TBH whilst I don't think it's necessarily the best idea for Rea to be making such a massive spray in public, it does kinda confirm what many had suspected ever since Nucifora got such a random booting - a strange, bordering on alarming, lack of professionalism/culture inside the club.

Could be absolutely crucial in terms of the Blues' placement but I don't think it'll affect the Reds, who after their win last night should take out top spot. They've got a relatively easy draw providing they don't get belted by the Crusaders in two weeks time, since following that they've got the Brumbies, Force and Chiefs, none of whom have looked cohesive this year.
EDIT: meant to say the Chiefs at home are looking good before the Quaggas bit. If the Reds cna beat the Saders then i'll be happy...Force in perth could be a handful, we only beat them 25-24 in Round one - Messrs Pocock/Hodgson/Brown and the battle battle with Robinson/Samo/Higgers will be epic. As will be Quade v JOC. And Horwill v Sharpe.

Lol, Chin up Quaggas...if it's any consolation you're only one point behind the guy in last at our work tipping comp...may happen to be me ftr...would be in 2nd if tipping at work like i do here

I would like to make a post about the line out. To me it is the most glorious invention in all of sport. First of all you get to listen to the line out calls to see if you can try to figure them out. Then you watch the jumpers to try to anticipate where it will be thrown. Then you wonder whether the ball will be thrown in straight. Finally a guy 6 3" or more gets lifted 5 feet in the air to try to catch it. Just awesome.
I have made posts before about how I dislike scrum time. But I can't get enough of line outs.
