I agree and for his own personal growth, I think he needs to leave the SACA set-up. He's only 27, still plenty of time to go ply his trade elsewhere but now is probably the time to make that decision (if SACA don't make it for him).

He really has a weird game for Adelaide Oval too; very strong down the ground but not great through the off-side off front or back-foot. It's like he hasn't realised the boundaries are short square of the wicket. Gets bogged down really easily because of that and the pressure builds before he slashes at a wide one.

In-form he can tap the pill a long, long way, though (from about 0:40).

EDIT: All that said, as strange as it sounds, his knock in the T20 final was extremely patient and really well-crafted. If he stays, hoping that was a turning-point because it;s the best I personally have seen him bat.

Harrity happy to make way for Jason Gillespie | Adelaide Now

Gillespie a good bet? Damien Wright also strikes me as a bloke who is brillant with the technical side of bowling.

James Smith, Chris Duval, O'Brien, Moffat and Tim Lang are all on the chopping block for mine, Cullen Bailey possibly to. I'm not sure about all the rookies, who knows if Delaney and etc are going to be retained under Darren Berry.

Hopefully Ludeman gets his chance in the FC format. I reckon Berry will bring over Crosswaite, if he does, he should start off in the shorter formats.

Seems Harwood is finished, he had already retired from 4 day cricket i thought, but it would seem he;s given up the short formats stuff too. Hope Gillespie gets the SA coaching job.

Nah I like the boy for some reason. Can't put my finger on it, but just like him.
Certainly not worthy of a NSW contract at this stage when you consider who we've got at our disposal though, IMO. I'd certainly have no objections to him doing a Hauritz - moving across to play grade cricket and try to push for a place/contract through performances there.

Should be noted that Dizzy hasn't applied for the spot. Don't think he will either.

No ****, but I personally think he'd be a great depth player. Would certainly have no qualms about him coming in to replace a front liner.

Having said that, TC is right in everything he's said. Difference between his best and his worst is the problem. Think he's worthy of a spot in someones first XI.

Yeah, he won't get a contract this year. Will probably ply his trade in the local comps for big $$. It was a choice between him and Steve Gilmour this year, and when it got given to Harwood I believe that the Victorian selectors gave Gilmour a written guarantee that he'd get a contract this year, as otherwise he would have left to another state.
