Even though I know I shouldn't question science and all that, The old bugger in me will still be raging a bit when one of my favs gets out to an Ajmal doosra.
Know what you mean. Still, he's been checked and given his 15 degrees (presumably). All we can really say is that his action is ugly.

At least Ajmal's plying some impressive skill with his bendier-armed doosras, better to watch than some non-spinning dart throwing you get from some.

Does anyone think it's impossible for the WI groundsman to produce any other sort of pitch than this one they're currently playing on ? WI have always struggled against spin, even domestically it's the spin bowling that causes all the problems, yet they select one spinner, whose on debut, in their side, so what are the advantages in producing a pitch with variable bounce and immense turn on the opening day ?

Surely if it was possible, I don't know if it is, they should be leaving more grass on the pitch to negate the impact of Pakistan's spinners, and take their chances against the seamers on a pitch that may favour that style of bowling. That will also bring their own bowlers into play much more with the likes of Roach, Rampaul, and reluctantly naming Sammy!

Yeah I wonder why they can't prepare pace bowler friendly pitches. At least give their bowlers a chance. Especially against the Pak batsmen who are not well known for their consistency

25 overs unchanged for the spinners now.

Pakistani fielding up to expectations. Kamran's with them in spirit.

They should keep Ajmal on, replace Rehman with Riaz on the other end and try to get in some full bowling to the stumps from the pacer to Roach.

Kind of feel for Simmons, deserved the 50 after sticking it out for so long. Beginning of the end for the Windies.

Ajmal deserves at least a 5-for here. Hoping he picks up the last two as six wickets will be just reward for this spell of bowling.
