'Official' Pakistan in West Indies

Personally, I share your concerns about Brathwaite. I don't want him to be made into another Xavier Marshall.

"Fifteen players have been invited to participate in a two day match on May 8th and 9th at the Demerara Cricket Ground in Georgetown. The 15 players are: Carlton Baugh, Devendra Bishoo, Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Fidel Edwards, Brendan Nash, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Lendl Simmons, Devon Smith."

I think I mentioned in a previous thread when we were discussing the future of West Indies cricket I was hoping that he'd be able to play another season or two before test cricket.

My team from that fifteen, assuming Sammy has to play:

1. Lendl Simmons
2. Brendan Nash
3. Darren Bravo
4. Ramnaresh Sarwan
5. Shivnarine Chanderpaul
6. Marlon Samuels
7. Carlon Baugh
8. Darren Sammy
9. Kemar Roach
10. Fidel Edwards
11. Devendra Bishoo

Far from ideal. I'd love to play Russell ahead of Sammy, and Nash really shouldn't have to open. Maybe Sammy can just take up the vacant opener's spot? :p

Because of Sammy the team always looks short on both bowling and batting! So useless.

Good win for WI.Not bothered by yesterday's loss TBH,or the previous one for that matter.A 5-0 whitewash would have been awesome, but we outplayed them in 3 of the matches and were unlucky to lose the 4th one.And after we won the series in the 3rd match it was obvious that the next two matches would be taken lightly.

This builds up the test series nicely though.Expect Pakistan to win it 1-0.The only dissapointing part for me was Sadaf Hussain not getting a game.I was really looking forward to seeing him play. But with someone like Waqar as coach,he would probably know better as to how good Sadaf is and when he deserves a chance.
Sadaf was injured, that's why he didn't play. Should have just allowed Cheema tbf.

I'm so sick of Afridi, call me mad but he is just weak now. Hiding at 7 and blaming others. Really annoys me. Sure he isnt a 'batsman' but he CAN bat and should come at 2 if he's confident. He's gonna get kicked me thinks.

He'll get kicked because of his batting? He'll get kicked because the specialist batsmen in the team don't deliver and it is wrong of him to blame them?

Cute.

Suggesting that he should come at no.2 is a stupid suggestion, and one that Pakistan supporters should get over.Afridi isn't going to open the innings or bat at no.3,or come up the order. He doesn't need to do either of these things because there is enough firepower in our top 5 to take the innings at a brisk pace. The fact that they haven't done that is no reason for Afridi to come up the order. They are specialist batsmen. He isn't.

I agree with pretty much everything that you say except for the firepower part in our top order :p

Just under 50% of Trinis, and just over 50% of Guyanese, are Indo-Caribbean people, descended from indentured labourers who were imported by the British into the West Indies from Madras and Calcutta. Lots of the Indians who came from Calcutta were Muslims, hence the following cricketers played for the West Indies - Faoud Bacchus (Guyana), Imtiaz Ali (Trinidad), Inshan Ali (Trinidad), Dave Mohammed (Trinidad). Imran Khan plays for Trinidad and Amir Khan plays for the Guyana youth team....

There's another warmup match going on....

WI XI: Simmons, Smith, Darren Bravo, Sarwan, Baugh, Sammy (c), Russell, Roach, Paul Wintz, Raj Nanan, Bishoo

INVITATIONAL XI: Kraigg Brathwaite, Barnwell, Samuels, Nash (c), Crosse, Hinckson, Bramble, Fidel Edwards, Stoll, Lindore, Garraway

At DCC, #WIvINTXI: LUNCH WI 87/1 D. Bravo 42* Smith 26*. Batsman out....Lendl Simmons (14).

#WIvINVXI: WICKET! WI 115/2 Bravo goes caught Kwame Crosse b Wintz for 56. Sarwan joins Smith.
