Loss of Younis Khan is huge for Pak. Nearly played more tests that the other Pakistani batsman combined and he was the only Pak batsman to have played test matches in the Windies.

In the Guyana Pak match, the Guyanese spinners did most of the damage at Georgetown and despite the first test being played at Providence, that wicket usually has nothing in it for the quicks also. Windies may have missed a trick by not picking a second spinner. Pak will have three.

Just under 50% of Trinis, and just over 50% of Guyanese, are Indo-Caribbean people, descended from indentured labourers who were imported by the British into the West Indies from Madras and Calcutta. Lots of the Indians who came from Calcutta were Muslims, hence the following cricketers played for the West Indies - Faoud Bacchus (Guyana), Imtiaz Ali (Trinidad), Inshan Ali (Trinidad), Dave Mohammed (Trinidad). And at the Windies warmup match at the DCC, Devon Smith hit 130 not out to lead the WI XI to 310-5, with Darren Bravo making 61, and Andre Russell 33 not out. Ramnaresh Sarwan was out for 20, Carlton Baugh 17, Darren Sammy 15, and Lendl Simmons 13. Bowling for the Invitational XI, Paul Wintz took 2-44 and there was one wicket each for Fidel Edwards, Chris Barnwell and Randy Lindore.

As long as Sammy is playing, the Windies can't really play two spinners, and we're stuck with him for the rest of the summer, I'm sure....

Haha the weirdest thing about the whole Devon Smith saga is that he scored a massive hundred against a Sri Lanka A team (or something similar) with two or three good offies in it last season. Odd player is Devon.
