Indeed, but facing 38 overs of Dean Cosker in April isn't the hardest task in the CC.Bopara gets his ton. Looks almost straightforward for Essex now - not a bad effort given they were chasing 360. Played.
Yeah, I think it's a big innings for Bopara. Don't want him to take Colly's place, but we know he's favoured by the selectors, and gives us a bowling option, which the other contenders don'tGood solid comeback victory from Durham today, Ian Blackwell's century gave them some impetus, before Onions and Borthwick took four wickets each to ensure they were chasing only a small total.
A fantastic result for Essex, considering this game came on the back of two disappointing results, with batting collapses seemingly inevitable. Set 360 to win, Essex's big guns came to the party, Alastair Cook with 79 before Ravi Bopara and Matt Walker put on 217 and took Essex very nearly home. Bopara saw the job through, ending on 136 not out and boosting his own England chances in the process. Think Eoin Morgan may be looking on rather enviously and nervously from his Indian abode.
To strengthen his bowling option, think he got through 23 overs the other day, which is a decent effort and suggests he must have been bowling reasonably well.Yeah, I think it's a big innings for Bopara. Don't want him to take Colly's place, but we know he's favoured by the selectors, and gives us a bowling option, which the other contenders don't
Yeah Hussain has all the makings of a one-hit wonder. Looks like he needed another good season under his belt before leaving Gloucs - not enjoying Taunton. Very few bowlers do, though.Yes, I've always thought Dawson had some potential, but well done Somerset, still not sure about this start, Hildreth hasn't pushed on, and Hussein looks like a one-season wonder to me.
Tres is a god though, and I'm just praying for Kartik's return.
You'd think, yeah.Better Vaas than Maharoof
