English Domestic Season 2011

Do we know what Somerset's plans are for Buttler? Are they grooming him in the expectation of Kieswetter increasingly spending more time on England duty or do they think he has what it takes to be a top order batsman alone?

Not too often the give him overs. always bowls less overs than Blackwell..
Gets a lengthy spell now. Got Paul Best for a rather dull 2 off 45 for his fourth wicket.

Listening to Notts and Worcs - nice one-day chase there, 262 off 1 over & 2 sessions (:wallbash: at fc rules). Will be disappointed with that after Worcs were effectively 70/5 though. NSW allrounder Damien Wright bashed 30-odd after Kervezee (hup) saved yesterday.

The Nottingham commentator manages to get 1 of 3 vowels of Kervezee correct.

Tight finish ahead at Essex - chasing another 150 runs with 7 wickets left in about three hours. Ravi Bopara's there on 52*, could have a lot to prove today.

Sussex scorecard looks a tad weird

openers bucketloads
middle order stumped, run out and other assorted single-digit suicides
Naveds both 25+

Shahzad takes 5 against the students. Nice return to FC cricket for him. Also, Borthwick is opening the batting for Durham in their fourth innings.

Haha nice. 'sorry we didn't give you the ball mate, try making some runs instead as our Aussie has wimped out.'

Notts commentator mightily impressed with Alex Hales. 44* with nine boundaries at the moment, got hit by short stuff from Gareth Andrew (!) but came out with 8 from the over anyway.

Borthwick's opened the batting for them a few times now IIRC. Durham got rolled for not very many and Borthwick made 20* or something so they told him to keep his pads on and sent him back out.

Monty keeping Lancashire at bay. Toby Roland-Jones takes wickets and keeps his average below 20, appropriate that the poshest name in cricket does well on this crass day, I suppose.

Notts v Worcs could be in for a tight finish.
Doesn't sound like it tbh. Occasional desperate appeals, but otherwise Hales & Voges are in control. Wright dropped short with his final ball of an over just now and gave away a no-ball which evaded everyone and went for four, so it's just 84 for 28 overs.
