So poor from england. Learn to play slow bowling. Peterson and Tahir six wickets between them. Top performance from the Saffies today.

The worrying comment that I've heard since the Ireland game is that England's fate is still in their own hands. Given their inability to hold onto anything on Wednesday, is there any worse place for England's fate to rest?

As for Sunday, if SA take a few early wickets, then England won't reach 150. Even if England to make some sort of a score, their bowling's so out of sorts that SA should win by a country mile.
Gee it would be nice to be wrong about this bunch once in a while. OK, they've scraped a tad above 150, but apart from that ...

Great to wake to see that our top 3 gave it away to Petersen. Being blown away by Steyn's one thing, but 2 wickets in the first over to this guy takes some doing. We all know you don't want to be there guys, but is it too much to ask you to to look professional even if you really lost interest a couple of months ago?

how did we let Broad score 150 he looks a complete hack on the other times I have seen him bat maybe there was more then spot fixing in that game.

He's a bit like Johnson. He played quite a few very annoying innings in the 09 Ashes. Looks rubbish early on, but let him get set - and especially let him get his front-foot play going - and he's a proper batsman.

Anyway, all over. Need a monumental performance from Broad/Swann for SA not to walk this.

Think some serious questions need to be asked about how England managed to take a squad with the likes of Wright, Prior, Yardy, Tremlett and Tredwell. FFS way to make a joke about the whole tournament.
Pretty sure Tremmers would've played by now if he was in the squad. He's there as a replacement option only.

Peterson very polite when Pommie asked how he thought the chase would go. "It'll be an an absolute piece of piss" was the obvious reply, surely?

The whole thing's been an afterthought. Look at the situation with the opening batsmen. Davies plays one game. Prior comes in and lasts a handful. Come the WC, and KP's the man for the job. Which, apart from not working, leaves us short of anyone who even has the potential to do anything in the middle order. Beyond that, as your post intimated, the backup in the squad is so dire that even the performances we've seen haven't left us any options beyond sticking with Yardy.

That being said, I dunno who the alternatives are. Perhaps we should simply play the Lions side on our 50-overs games. If nothing else, they might look as if they want to be there.
