TBF, we won't know what;s a good a total til SA bat.England still in it thanks to the partnership. Need to reach the 40th over safely then assess from there. Can't afford another collapse
Jackman keeps saying 240 is the average score batting first; reckon we'll nedd more but would so take that from here.Anyone know what the commentators estimated to be a par score at the start of the game? Given England batted first, they'd have looked for 250 at the very least.
Bam.Morkel has conceded just 11 from his 4, Smith should look to get him on.
Gives me very little pleasure in being right, but...Have you not seen our middle order lately? Rav or Trotters goes and we're in the mire.
His selection was always quite weird. What a joke Prior is. Can't open, can't finish. Send KP home and bring over Kes.
Vic Marks on Michael - Yardy is to be lauded to the skies – name another cricketer who has the wit to play as a batsman in domestic cricket yet who gains selection as a bowler at international level.Gives me very little pleasure in being right, but...
Yardy looking all kinds of turd out there.
Hehe, brilliant. He must have watched a lot of Shiv Chanderpaul to perfect that crawl across the stumps.Gives me very little pleasure in being right, but...

I've never seen him keep, but his batting is amazingly inventive. Scores at 150 and plays proper cricket shots, has elastic wrists and is great at manipulating the ball. Strong boy too. Has a good case to play for Engalnd as a specialist batsman in the limited overs formats, as he does at Somerset, in fact (due to Kieswetter keeping).Tell me a bit about that Jos Buttler at Somerset?
Yeah. Would have been my choice as opening partner for Strauss. Was exposed against the Aussie quicks last summer but on these slow, low wickets, Kes is the sort of cricketer who would excel and he has form for scoring runs out in the subcontinent. If not, then Davies did nothing which warranted being axed for Prior. His selection was always quite weird.
England selectors first of all left him out for Kieswetter and then went for Davies and all of a sudden they plomped for Prior a few matches into the Aus series. To me that sent the wrong messages.
With Kes are you referring to Kieswetter?

Cheers, mate. I've heard a lot of good things about the lad. Obviously this WC was too early for him.I've never seen him keep, but his batting is amazingly inventive. Should be Davies really - he wasn't just the best keeper-batsman in domestic one dayers last season, he was one of the best batsman full stop. Averaged 47.44 opening the innings for Surrey. Edit: That actually included 5 ODIs, his domestic only record was even better.Cheers, mate. I've heard a lot of good things about the lad. Obviously this WC was too early for him.
Is Kieswetter the answer though for the ODI keeper in the future?
