That will be one permanent, definitive break from my childhood/teen days. So it will be for millions of othersMore than the stat, I am making sure I watch Sachin's last few remaining knocks in ODI games. There is no reason for him to play anymore 50 over cricket after this tournament. We all will miss him big time.

Yes, considering Bradman has not even a third of thatHe should do it easily from where he is now. What is it? 98 tons or something now. Insane numbers from a great player.
He can continue to play till someone who is better than him is kept out of the team because of him. Currently I don't think that's the case. If personal ambitions can keep him up and running with the best of the world, I don't know how that can be not beneficial to the team as well.I think Sachin should retire after this WC.I'll probably lose a bit of respect for him if he doesn't,since the only driving force would be personal ambition i.e. number of 100s,number of runs etc.The man has beaten every batting record known to man,and is arguably the most complete Batsman the world has known. For someone with so much class, continuing to play after the WC for personal goals just seems a bit shallow. And i'm probably not even phrasing this correclty since i like him as a player and saying something like this feels odd.But just my two cents.
Retiring after this WC would be much more graceful than retiring after a regular ODI/Test series. It would give him the perfect sending off - Biggest stage of them all,In his home country.
I'd put money on him being in the squad for 2015.He may end up playing the next World Cup for all you know.
Congratulations. Now you kids won't go to school and your wife will leave you.

Or you know... helping the Indian side considering he's still one of your best batsman in both formatsI think Sachin should retire after this WC.I'll probably lose a bit of respect for him if he doesn't,since the only driving force would be personal ambition
