best bowlers in the 90s

ambrose was the best bowler of the 90s; even better than shane warne who would run him a close second. among pacers it is a toss up between wasim and donald for the second spot. waqar is clear 4th among fast bowlers in my opinion.

ha ha.... it is quite cool that imran whacks them after ducking the bouncers. i dont think they could have made a commercial with waqar yorking imran and akram bouncing him out.

they all look good. imran looks great! wish the ad were shot and edited better though. but i guess the late 80s, early 90s film/TV industry in pak wasnt all that great. even the recent films, like khuda ke liye, despite being strong on content, are not really technically sound.

feels like a trip down memory lane for me. thanks for sharing it, mate.

lol......you are welcome....true.....I doubt waqar or wasim would have dared bowl those toe crushers to Imran or try to bounce him EVER.......he would have had them flogged.......

yeah the editing is quite bad but I though the ad was pretty cool.........Imran is almost 39 years old in that ad and still looked fresh compared to Wasim and Waqar......really funny hairdo on Wasim.....lol

Someone should share Wasim's 'Main Cigarette Nahi Peeta" commercial.Probably the most nostalgic of all commercials for my generation.

I can't open youtube since they've blocked youtube in office, hopefully someone else can do that.Classic commercial.Probably shot somewhere between 1990 - 1992 since it shows footage of his hattrick against Australia.

Couldn't find it on Youtube I'm afraid.

However, I did find Wasim Akram winning in the Krypton Factor.

So, I learned something today.

Pollock was immense in the 90s.
Well, on reflection and looking at his record, perhaps it would be fairer to say his peak was closer to 1998-2003. However, given that he had only played 14 matches prior to this period, and didn't have a great first couple of seasons anyway, it's hard to say he was among the best bowlers of the entire decade. Especially considering the competiton.

a fair assessment. His captaincy era was dire for South Africa. How did he himself perform during that time?

Actually, pretty amazingly well. He was carrying the entire team at the time, "in transition" would be the polite way of saying it.

26 matches

998 runs at 41.11
2 centuries, 3 fifties, HS 111

103 wickets at 21.36
4 5w hauls, 1 10w haul
BBI 6/30, BBM 10/147
