The Tiger King
Jokes apart, I didn't really understand what we were trying to do with our team during these practice game. Why guys like Ferguson and Paine didn't bat or why Dougeh didn't bowl yesterday is way beyond me, because both India and South Africa certainly didn't show any reluctance to use their full resources.
True......even Pakistan didn't try out the new pacer junaid khan. I wonder wth is the team management thinking.

Yeah it's just bizarre. Paine I guess is still nursing his finger (and I suspect it caused him to drop a rather important catch first game), but the others really need gametime. Especially Doug.

England opened with KP? Really?

EDIT: Oh... I just noticed who England are playing. Yeah, 5/144 is not the finest of efforts...

Nah, I think Lee's fine. It's the rest that are of concern. No McGrath, fine, no Bracken, oh well. But half our bowlers sometimes struggle to hit the strip...

Funny how all the major teams are really impressing and coming together before the world cup like India, SA, Lanka, (especially) Pakistan and even Australia (6-1 v Eng). All except for England, who suddenly seem to have lost the intensity of the Ashes.

Huh? I thought Broad wasn't playing?

England will be pleased to see him back nonetheless.

Prior and Broad rescuing England. Partnership 50 up, 208/7. I can get on board with the KP opening experiment if it means Prior can stay down the order.

Good to see Broad and Colly fit. Bresnan coming in for Wright, Bopara for Yardy and we may be able to field a strong side. Batting still looks atrocious but it could still fire.

I'm told that there are so many Pakistanis in the team, they generally converse on the field in Urdu. Not a criticism, just notable.
Interesting but not surprising. Have a look at this :

1) Ashish Bagai - born in Delhi, India
2) Jimmy Hansra - born in Ludhiana, India
3) Rizwan Cheema - born in Pakistan
4) Khurram Chohan - born in Lahore, Pakistan
5) PA Desai - born in Gujarat, India
6) Balaji Rao - born in Chennai, India
7) Harvir Baidwan - born in Chandigarh, India
8) R Gunasekara - born in Sri Lanka
9) Hiral Patel - born in Gujarat, India

Given they have so many players of Indian and Pakistani origin, it isn't surprising that they converse on the field in Urdu.

Happens in most of the associate countries in the lower divisions as well.

Anyways, I don't see it as a problem as long as they developed under that countries own domestic structure.

Yeah, I don't begrudge them for not playing for their country of birth. None of those players would have been able to make the India-Pakistan side anyway.
