fair enough, I read back 6 pages put apperently i shouldve read a bit more ;)
Well we discussed what was going on as it happened, but not so much analysis because

a) no-one could actually watch it, and

b) it only really confirmed what we already knew - the Netherlands have a pretty ordinary bowling lineup, but may have the edge on other associates thanks to ten Doeschate.

Hmmm. As Joni says, us being **** in a warmup is not really that big a deal, or that new.

Didn't even come close to losing a game in the 2007 WC warm-ups, though.

T20 warm-ups are always going to be a bit more unpredictable/volatile because T20's are. Reckon ODI warm-ups are a batter predictor and that OZ are in real trouble once they play someone half-decent.

Well, obviously the wides are a concern. As is the general lack of form/quality of the White/Dussey/Smith combination.

But if we look at the batting more carefully - is anyone concerned about Watson? Haddin was run out early in his innings, what are we meant to draw from that? White, too - he played an innings that wasn't particularly fast or slow, made a start, then get run out which tells us precisely nothing about how he's batting. And then Dussey wasn't even out.

So I'm hesitant to draw too strong a conclusion from this warmup game. Obviously if it continues for much longer it's a concern, but we'll see.

Not saying that we'll go past the semis, but let's wait 'til the tournament actually starts before writing people off, yeah?

Aus'll be right. Will play SL, SA or India in the final. Will win it by about 80.

Lock it in.

would gladly take the humble pie if proven wrong but the current Aus side lacks the X factor players that you so badly need to win a global event only Watto is one who can be regularly trusted Ponting is injured/over the hill Lee is past it rest are merely decent odi players.

Actually reckon Lee is bowling pretty well.

Dougeh didn't play this match, did he?

Explains the ease of the chase by SA.

Dougeh!

Dougeh.

Jokes apart, I didn't really understand what we were trying to do with our team during these practice game. Why guys like Ferguson and Paine didn't bat or why Dougeh didn't bowl yesterday is way beyond me, because both India and South Africa certainly didn't show any reluctance to use their full resources.

Meanwhile, England have limped to 86/4 against Canada. They tried KP opening (he got 24), which is apparantly their new plan for the tournament.

How are they suddenly this bad? It's almost laughable.
