Blame has to go on Ryder as well. You could see Guptill was frustrated with singles being turned town.

They do all this experimenting with the order, but they don't even think about taking a batting PP. They just want things to stall, and for batsman to get themselves out they they always do.

Pathetic.

McCullum in as a runner for Ryder, it seems Ryder is about to go. In fact as I type this ryder ran forgetting that he had a runner

It's not a bad idea to try and hit boundaries but why try to clear long-on off a seamer? Such a poor choice of shot..

Hitting straight has to be a plan on this ground though, straight it's only about 58 metres either way. I'm not suggesting it was the right shot to the right ball off the right bowler though.

I love Ryder, and have money on NZ anyway so I'm glad they've given him a runner for selfish reasons... but I really do agree with Michael Clarke (and Strauss from a year or so back) that you shouldn't get runners for cramp.

Jesse doesn't look in too much pain. Hopefully it's just a minor aggravation of his earlier calf strain, and hes just being cautious.

Taylor...

Taylor gone, the innings beginning to hinge on how Ryder plays for the remainder of the innings. Franklin in at 5. Would have thought Styris and Ryder to stabilise and ensure they're in a good position to explode towards the end of the innings, maybe Franklin's capable of doing that too.

Big time here for NZ as this innings looks in danger of imploding horribly and any hopes of 350 are quickly disappearing, partnership required.
