Oram's bowling is sooooooooo overrated, he doesn't open the bowling nor bowl at the death, of course is stats are going to look nice. With both McCullum and Vettori looking likely to play during the world cup unless Oram can start scoring some runs he shouldn't be near this team.
Out of interest, who would be your fifth bowler?

If Mills, Southee, Vettori and N McCullum are worth 35-40 overs per match, with perhaps 5 from Styris, then we still need one more bowler. Choose between Oram, Bennett or Woodcock.

It's possible some of Williamson, Guptill, Ryder and Franklin could bowl an over here or there, but if we're counting on those it could really backfire.

Edit: I do agree that Oram seems to be shirking the tougher bowling jobs though

Ryder injured with a cut ickle finger* and Franklin is in.

* yes, I know a damaged finger is a legitimate reason not to play

Guptill completes his pretty much guaranteed beautiful 20.

Radio commies: "Bit of a surprise to see him go, he was looking well set."
Must've been watching a different Guptill to the rest of us for the past two years.

I presume it's a typical flat Napier pitch? 300 minimum here I should think would you say guys?

Most pop gun opening attack going internationally and NZ are 3 down on a complete and utter road. Riaz did a Mitchell Johnson there. :)

Was referring to How. Taylor is well proven.
Yay, yet another situation for Williamson to prove how good he is at scoring slowly in. Want to see him unleashing some of those shots we've all heard of.

Crazy how much these batsmen have fallen away since 2008 actually. Back then we were looking at a team that could have gone all the way in the world cup.

Then Bond retired and the rest of the good players forgot how to play this format.
