I understand how frustrating it is, and if I was a neutral, I would be tearing my hair out probably. But please understand that Pakistan haven't won a test series in YEARS. This team is just coming off the most horible of scandals and being led by the 150th new Captain in the last 2 years. I don't care if they have shut up shop and just want to go for a boring draw. They need to win a series, period. Doesn't matter how.

Vettori can't win tests and is such a defensive captain. I rate him as an allrounder, and if Franklin fails at six then lock Vettori in there.

But the current structure of the bowling, when he is a strike bowling allrounder and our number one spinner, does not work. Add into the equation his defensive mindset, and he makes for one frustrating player at the moment.

People not realising Vettori's strengths and weaknesses are going to cost Arnel his test career, and possibly keep other spinners that aren't bloody Patel out of the side longer than they should be.

Makes me think more and more that vettori may have to bat 6 to fit into the team in the next few years if we have anyone vaguely resembling a spinner. That would be bad news for the other ex-bowler, Franklin.

For sure, they only need two decent overs to get on a roll. It's a shame they seem to content with the 1-0 series win when they could easily have a crack from here and win 2-0

Yeah totally understand this and they have played it perfectly all day but now there is pretty much no way they can lose it is worth a go, a 2-0 win is a resounding success.

Definitely, seems bizzare that they're going to finish 40 runs short of victory with probably 6 wickets remaining. Like someone earlier in the thread said, why not let Shafiq try and score some quick runs and Misbah can hold up the other end.

Southee's looked a lot better than 6 wickets @ 41 this series IMO. It seems criiminal that Arnel actually has the better series average at this point.

If Arnel was 6 years younger he'd be labelled as unlucky. Unfashionable it seems.

A solid bowler but will admit he doesn't seem to have the ability to really rip one out at this level yet. I'd have him doing the Martin role when Martin retires (unless he carries on playing until he's 38) with coaching by Donald thrown in. Hypothetically Southee-Wagner-Arnel has pace, variation and consistency.
