*Official* - Pakistan in New Zealand 2010/2011

Reckon Waqar isn't risking his team collapsing, fair enough with a series lead and an implosive lineup.

Or not.

"14 overs till the new ball, if NZ want it."

You didn't need the second part of that sentence, Smithy.

Looking at our bowling line up, we only have two wicket taker bowlers. I know the NZ setup think they have three (maybe not after today, because Vettori's matchwinning qualities are being horribly exposed), but I feel keep Vettori and Franklin as the stock bowlers and drop Arnel for Bennett or someone. I like Arnel, but he offers the least of the three stock bowlers because he can't bat and he isn't the skipper.

Radio commentators just talking about vettori's failure to bowl teams out or even get wickets on wearing pitches. "He can't turn the ball, so is he the right person to bowl NZ victory on the last day".

Hmmm, was thinking it was a good discussion until one of them said "Patel hasn't really had a chance". Also they didn't know anything about any of the domestic spinners - even less than me.

Please oh please can one of Beard/ Nethula/ Astle/ someone-else turn into a decent spinner in the next few years.

Yeah it seems like Arnel has offered as much with the ball as Franklin here. Must be close to the chopping block, not a terrible bowler though.

Can't believe Patel is so popular. Second worst FC spinner statistically in the country to Nathan McCullum, and it's very close. McCullum is also an excellent ODI spinner, whereas Patel is ****.

If Patel plays another test, Astle and Beard should move countries.

... clearly people like Patel because 'he's such a nice guy'.

He probably is. I'm pretty sure Hopkins is too. It's a shame they are so utterly sub-par as international cricketers.

Mills>Arnel as a test bowler. He can bat a bit as well. We just have to wait until Wagner is eligible and Milne develops into a semi Bond clone.

Definitely, although I'm starting to worry that Mills might be on the decline a bit. His ODI performances have been disappointing of late, and that's continued for Auckland this season.

Patel also showed promise in the early stages of his international career, unfortunately this never developed. Hopkins just went all Sinclair without the doubles.

Arnel has really disappointed me this match. With McKay injured he's had a clear chance to establish a place in the side through some good performances. And has blown it.

Yeah, personally i think its time to move on from the Mills/Tuffey/Arnel bunch and give the young guns some time against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. That's where Flem's Dougeh comes into it.

Loving Southee lately. He used to fade away after the new ball lost its zip and he looked uninterested, but in India and now here he's been a lion, charging in all day and looking gun. Been so unlucky.
