No matter how much they've frustrated me sometimes, I always thought I could at least depend on the Black Caps having the desire to win. If there was a chance to win a match, I thought they'd always at least try to take it (whether or not they're good enough to do it is another story).

I guess John Wright wants to encourage time at the crease sort of stuff and allowing his players to continue to slog would probably not be as beneficial in the long term as them becoming accustomed to their own games and learning how to pace an innings. That is the cop out reason anyway.

So i guess it is possible we could end up with say 280 lead by the end of the day. That has to be what they are planning.
