You're right it's probably not ideal, but on the positive side, Williamson seems very keen to do the job, so I certainly admire his confidence and belief, and willingness to stick his hand up and be counted.Perhaps not ideal but Williamson's simply far, far too good to bat at six in this lineup. Well you're going to have two out of McIntosh/Guptill/Franklin batting above him in the order if he bats six and he's definitely far too good to be running out of partners in a team that has those guys in it.

I appreciate that, but as a middle order batsman there's always going to be two openers, generally a specialist position, that will always be above you, of varying degrees of quality also. Would certainly bat him above Franklin, no doubt.
