*Official* India in South Africa

Ideally South Africa should be focusing on areas of their game where they need to be tested at. So bowling first, seeing who can operate at the death and not concede 30 runs from two overs and whether they can chase down totals in the face of 30 overs of spin. If the wickets are anything like Kingsmead then South Africa will walk this series and just go into the WC under a false sense of security.

They did. South African batsman couldn't get him of the square last time they faced him in India. Was the difference from South Africa chasing down 400+ totals. India should consider going in with just Zaheer as their only quick here. Losing Kumar was a huge blow.
Munaf was not bad either.

I just want to see Ashwin playing there instead of Harbhajan.

Whatever it takes!!!
As I said after the first test, there is a strange feeling of optimism when we suck at the first game of any series.. Staying true to form.. :)

Too much being made of this match.

The toss is too important in a day/night match there at durban and it was the case once again.

Out of the last 15 games,12 matches have been won by the team winning the toss and one has been a draw.

Strangely didn't swing last night but the game was one by South Africa by the 35th over. Morne was awesome.

Game pretty much played out like the last completed ODI at Kingsmead.

Yep.

They should not really play day/night matches there. The ball skids on too much under lights and also swings and seams compared to first innings.
There is also no dew to balance things out ,or early innings moisture.

10th post with the same? We wouldn't know if India would have won the toss, needless to say .... They would have lost as well and we would hear some other lame excuse.

What about: The better team won!. Too much? Yeah ...

Said the same before the match, tbh.

So the same would have applied had the roles been reversed due to the toss.

A team really has to poor, and one out of their skins to overcome the toss in a day/nighter at Durban.
Like in 2003 world cup India defeated England by a big margin, but i would say the toss was a big advantage back then too.

I just don't like toss deciding matches in these day and nighters in Srilanka, and south africa and sometimes in India too .The ICC really needs to do something about it.

India have benefited with it in the past too.

Feel a bit sorry(but not too much) for Rohit Sharma too.

With WC selection due tomorrow or day after, that bad decision he copped yesterday could cost him a place in the squad.

Thanks. I have no problem attesting that batting first in a day/night in Durban is an advantage.

But citing that the sole reason for a 135 runs defeat is a bit rich - well - quite a bit tbh. Actually it borders to ridiculously one eyed ...

how could dhoni say they are lack of seeming all rounder??... he must have forgotten Irfan who could be part of all format of games for India in such tough SA condition... He is the only perfect all rounder India has at the moment.. :)

He has been injured for quite a while now.

Has not played Any Domestic/decent standard Cricket for about 7/8 months now.

Still is doing recovery work.

Fun fact
Ind has only beaten SA in SA 3 times in odi's.
Good one dude, I have two you might like.

Fun fact one : South Africa have not won a single World Cup - neither THE World Cup nor the T20 World Cup (*cough* choke *cough*).
Fun fact two : A poster - goodness knows what his name is - disappears whenever South Africa get smashed ;)
